I cant help but to wonder if this isnt done to allow a period of exclusivity toward the 360 out of fear that if the PC version is simo released, a lot of people considering the game, will opt for the PC version, and instead of buying it, downloading it illegally.
I mean if there is really an impending PC gaming death which has been fortold by the sages for over a decade now, Isnt the root of it still at the fear of a game being pirated, thus causing devs to bypass porting to PC simply so they can ensure they get the same profit out of that 1/10th of 1% of people who actually pirate the games in the first place?
Me myself and I.. I will most likely be waiting for the PC version to come out. However, given the disparity of time from delayed launch I think it would be fair to reprice the PC version of the game at a ratio equal to the then current pricing of the console version. Such as console copy on release would be 60$ where as the PC release would be 50. Now say it takes 2 months from console release to PC. A new copy of the game for console by that time may be as low as 35$.. so given the fact it took that long does it really seem fair to still pay 50$ for the PC version when you can get a new copy for 35 on console? Which if im not mistaken very well might still steer the buyer to pick up the console version over the PC, and none of that takes into account the impact of used copies.
I really get the feeling that this might be the strategy for the future of PC gaming, Purposely delaying PC port releases, in order to try to milk the money out of the less than piratable console releases first.
