I honestly don't find the appeal in Facebook. It just starts drama from what I can see. Yes, it has a plethora of uses, but I'm not exactly fond of the idea of giving my name, my biography, my location, my gender and several other things, plus, I already have an email and if someone needs to contact me, I'm always sure to give it to them. I don't need a facebook to keep in touch and I'd rather avoid the stream of people adding me on facebook just because I happen to go to their school.
It's kind of interesting that you brought up that last point. Recently I was talking to my dad about how we should take ourselves off facebook because we barely go on and refuse to invite random people. I blame all those shitty games that require a virtual neighborhood to play. That's why I get those invites.

I have a Facebook. I don't know why. I have a ton of people I don't know but are somehow related to my internet friends added on there. About 14. I have 28 people on my friends list.

The 14 people I know irl aren't even really my friends, aside from my mom and my boyfriend.

And no one is interested in my little status updates.

Alas, I can't really get rid of it because.. I don't know, it's someplace on the internet to linger and be self-centered..

Facebook is a very useful site without it i would be unable to frequently contact my friends while in Australia.
