Facebook Third Party Apps (Probably) Leaked Your Info

Good thing the only thing I have linked to my Facebook externally is my Youtube account (so people can see what videos I like and favourite). I don't play any of the games or do any of the stupid quizzes anything. Of course a lot of my friends do so I'm probably screwed.

This is why I always decline when a prompt comes up asking me to give a 3rd party access to my information.

Facebook having it is already enough.

This would suck, If I ever had a facebook account. Stupidest thing on earth; next to twitter. Nothing like giving people a falsely inflated ego about a slightly irrelevant social networking site because they have 'like 100 friends' or '5 followers omg.'
Generalizing much?

My closest friends have all moved off abroad: one to Germany, another to Malaysia, and yet another two to USA. FB is a good way to keep contact in situations like that. And I've like, what... 35 friends listed on FB?

OT: Never touched any FB app, signed in with a Yahoo ID that's defunct, haven't entered any info other than my name and country. Enjoy hacking my account.

Thank god even i can't remember what my password was, so it's unlikely they would've gotten anything too valuable. I quickly changed my password to something i'll forget quickly just in case, though. Quite disturbing i heard it here first, though. You would've thought someone would've sent me an email.

Wait. A data leak from something facebook related makes news? I thought security breaches and data leaks were common enough that noticing it would be akin to saying "Oh WOW there's a cloud! OH WOW ANOTHER CLOUD!"

Reason #47,182 why I'm glad I don't have a facebook account.

Which includes coming across those little "like" buttons on the internet. Good luck to anyone who still wants to surf the net and try and dodge those things. They're freaking everywhere.
Kicking Facebook (and many other undesirable piles of shit like "bscorecardresearch") off my internets.

Good thing I don't use third party apps on facebook and even if I did most of the information on my profile is fake, also the e-mail address I use is used solely for Facebook, so all things considered ,I AM SO SMART!! I AM SO SMART! S-M-R-T I mean S-M-A-R-T!

More reason for Facebook not to have been invented. I'm noticing a secondary trend, that having a Fartbook account is mandatory just to login to certain sites.
Any site that requires that loses me. I can live without them.

Ok I sorted now with my new password (I don't have third party aps but I may as well be on the safe side). I wonder if those random phonecalls I gotten in the past was link from Facebook?

Well, this sucks. I don't really use third party apps, but i might have used one in the past, so just in case, changed my password.
Now the world is at peace.

Gee, the number of people who know me really well seems to be in the millions and climbing exponentially these last few weeks.

I feel like the whole world knows my name. Among other things.

this is why I never signed up to any of those third party apps, I think the most I ever did was a few games, but only really official ones like the Assassins Creed one. So I guess I'm in the clear...

Except for the fact I had a credit card attached to my PSN account... Sheeeeeiit.

Ever since I deleted my facebook account weeks ago, I have never felt so free.
Sadly is not possible.

You can only "de-activate" it. It takes a year or something before it actually gets deleted apparently.

I learnt that the hard way.

be a pro, change your profile picture to a dick and start sending out friend requests to everyone.

Facebook will get to it in about a week or two.

OT:

Seriously, I find it hilarious that someone even had to make that their status for how obvious it is.

I mean, its darwinism at its best, stupid people get stupid things done to them.
Haha, I think I know the guy who posted that.
Yeaah...funny stuff.

Oh god, i can't believe how many people i know (not necessarily friends, but friends-of-friends) who fell for that stupid frakkin' "Osama Execution Video" hijack. I actually had to do a public service announcement as my status just to warn all the morons.
