I'd say it's the other way around. This is a big deal because they know everything about Elon.

If Elon didn't buy twitter or wasn't going to be part of DOGE, nobody would care enough make hate threads about him. He's on the radar of people who's political beliefs are antithetical to his, people who are constantly told reasons why he's irredeemably evil, and they can't wait for him to fall from grace. The point isn't that he cheated in a video game once, else why is this garbage content being reported in the news? The point is that to the normie, he's not some genius worth listening because he's smarter than you, he's an unhinged narcissist who cheats in video games for attention.

Think of all those people who had Carlos Slim on their radar 10 years ago... did anybody even know who he was? I only remembered that guy precisely because I never heard of him. I can only imagine what would happen if he was caught paying for boosts.

At least compared to being a CEO of companies that makes futuristic things.
