I might actually get them now.

I'm not afraid of online purchases, I don't have dial-up, and I don't give a crap about the box or the some inside it.

What I don't like is the possibility that in the future, I might not be able to redownload or otherwise access the game I paid for. If I have a hard copy, I can always install from that.

Plus, GFWL caused stutters and crashes while playing FO3. Once I got the mod that severs the connection between FO3 and GFWL, I was able to uninstall GFWL and now the game runs great.

P.S. I would be more inclined to buy digital distribution off of Steam, but I still wouldn't like it that much. Steam > GFWL. The only thing I ever bought digitally was the Orange Box this last weekend. The risk of loosing the game since I have no hardcopy was offset by the fact that I only paid TEN BUCKS for the whole thing. Any more than that, I would have bought the hard copy.

This disturbs Me, I feel like I'm being given a gift (I don't have online) yet then they stamp on the box by not adding the best DLC in.

What a Shame. they are kidding themselfs if they think most people won't wait until a 3 in one boxset

others have mentioned it...but what about those of us who don't want to bother with microsoft points and wonder why they just don't use straight dollar amounts. of course if they did that they wouldn't get the extra money

my other beef is that im not interested in the first two dlc's at all, but very interested in the third....which means i wont be buying this disc...making it a waste for me and others and essentially a non sale

what i get is "we could have put the third on there but we wanted to go the bar instead so..."

Man... I already have Operation Anchorage, but I might have still bought this anyway for the free Vault Boy poster it says is included, but it won't even have Broken Steel in it! *sigh* I'll just download the others as well, I guess...

Things I don't understand:

1. Why you would not include the 3rd one, and waste money producing, packaging, and shipping the other two only to have to sell the 3rd one later, and then spend more in producing, packaging, and shipping. This could all be avoided by just upping the price on the first box, and including all 3.

2. Why people say Broken Steel is the "best one" when only Bethesda has touched it.

There's absolutely no reason for them not to release this on PS3 as well.
Except that they don't want to, or they signed something with MS saying they can't. (After all, the DLC is for XBL, and GFWL)

The reason is simply that Bethesda was paid for this content to be exclusive to the Xbox360 and Windows versions of the game. I was not able to find any information that states whether this is Forever or for a set time frame. SONY did the same thing with the Grand Theft Auto series of games for PS2. Those deals were for something like a year. As we know the GTA games eventually ended up on the Xbox. I am also not sure if this is for ALL DLC for Fallout 3. Some games in the past have had their own DLC on the two different platforms. Hopefully PS3 gets something eventually.

I feel just a bit insulted by the author; I don't distrust boxes, I love digital distribution... I just didn't want to support the Windows Live service by making a transaction with them.

So why is Bethesda not waiting until the 3rd expansion is on disc? That's what the disc people are really waiting for, all 3 expansions on one disc. This is just going to be replaced by a "3-in-1" disc sometime later and be a waste of packaging.
Sales of both are probably under what they hoped, and are giving it one last sell before Broken Steel comes out.

...Fuck yeah. Now all they have to do is also release broken steel on a disc and my Fallout fun will be complete. I never got around to getting xbox live, and had no plans too so I like to see stuff like this, it lets us that aren't online also enjoy the content.

im really looking forward to this since I cannot download the english Addons in germany.

However, they should have been waiting for the 3rd DLC before making that box. Idk if i'll get only the two ones.

maybe I'll wait for a game of the year edition or something.

Don't forget those who can't be arsed to buy 1000 "Microsoft-Points" to spend 800 on DLC and be stuck with loose change that's worth less than a steaming pile of dog-shit.
Yeah, this. Those of us without 360s and have no other use for MS Points don't really feel like venturing into the utter failure that is GFW Live. Retail version of the "DLC" is the only way I'll be getting it for Fallout 3.
Precisely. As a result of this, I may actually get this DLC now, at least when they release the Pitt in physical form as well.

....I have no response beyond an expression of bewilderment.

And if people can't get online, then why would they have a hard drive big enough to store the DLC for the 360 version, or have a PC without an internet connection for the PC version? This is one of the more peculiarly useless things I've seen in a while.

Edit: Okay, apparently its a boon for people who don't want to have to put up with Microsofts pricing bullshit. There's that, I guess.
Okay, maybe it'd be good for me. My computer is shit already, plus it's dying anyway. I have the 20 Gb hard drive, and my modem is 25 fuggin' metres away. So yeah, maybe this just MIGHT be for people like me.

That, and the fact that the Games For Windows Live system for PC is god-awful.
