Fallout 3 glitch

so my quest still says i need to escort dr. li INSIDE when i do it it freezes inside at 5 feet. i have tried to leave my companion. and also enter the secret back glitch way still no luck as soon as i enter the citadel she freezes me as she walks in

No, I don't have a save point earlier than this.
Go search for the quest codes, use the code for the quest you need to get, and hopefully all ends well.

its supposed to freaze and you sit there listening to them talk crap until yhe elder scribe talks to you then carry on . if this dont work then i sugesst goin there guns blazing and then leave and come back a few days later.

Maybe so, but still... Bethesda are generally known for the shoddyness of their titles. It normally takes a slew of patches and community patches to bring their games up to an acceptable standard of completeness.
I've run into some troubles with bethesda games but I'd never go so far to call it "unprofessional" or "incomplete". They produce giant sandbox games where the player is often free to do all sorts of stuff that may screw up the game. When you give the player the power to destroy your carefully crafted world on accident it's difficult to figure out all the ways such a thing might occur and patch for it until it happens. I've never had a problem completing any bethesda game out of the box so it's never seemed fundamentall "broken". I played both morrowind and oblivion on consoles while deployed (meaning no internet access) and managed to more or less finish them.

Sure, I've run into really annoying glitches myself (the vampirism cure quest in oblivion is my favorite as it took three attempts for it to work properly) - they seem to space themselves far enough apart that they don't destroy my will to continue on with the games.

It pays to remember though that Bethesda games are HUGE and it is somewhat understandable that the glitches are as widespread (However not near as horrible as the crap-fest Fable 2)
God I hated the glitches in Fable 2 (and the fact you can't make multiple save files with the same character). But yeah, if you do manage to fix this bug, remember to make more than one save file. Just in case.

i found the answer.. you need to go to little lamplight which is the next quest in the trail quest

i had a glitch when, after taking the big town quest everyone started shooting at me, and i had good karma so i was puzzled, ah well, i ended up killing everyone in big town, which was good fun

That's what I was going to say: any game like this with a huge 3d world, there always seems to be a bunch of hard brake (even game over-start again from the beginning) glitches. Oblivion was just as bad if I remember correctly. Actually, the only ones that stick out are the Jesus bandits.

San Andreas had quite a few of those game ending glitches as well; like the Mad Dog jumping glitch.

What might be an exception is Just Cause 2. I haven't played it as extensively yet but it's really smooth.
