Now wait, are you looking for the easiest, or the funnest playthrough?
When I first played the Game, I did the good karma route. The cool thing about this, is you get the best followers in the game. Fawkes, and Paladin Cross. Then I replayed, did the bad karma. Bad Karma was 2x as fun. Why? You get to steal whatever you want, kill whoever you want, however you want, and get rewarded for it. That my friend, is a win-win.

Depends on how you look at it.
Good Karma is hard in the beginning, but rewards you greatly in the end. Bad Karma allows you to get up and go, by taking whatever you want. But people won't really like you.

I find I play that game WAY too carefully and conservatively for what is, fundamentally, a shooting game. I know it's kind of part of the whole RPG thing, but I don't want to be counting every bullet in a firefight.

Pro tip: When doing the Power of Atom quest, if you wanna do it the good karma route, get the Fusion Pulse Charge from Mr. Burke and give it to Lucas. He'll confront Burke, and Burke will promptly kill him. Thus, giving you his equipment, including a Chinese Assault Rifle and the key to his house, which includes the Strength Bobblehead.

Other than that, play it how you would play in real life. It's kinda supposed to be like that.

If you want whole towns, cities and communities wanting to kill you. You either have to be a thief or really powerful, though don't let this demoralize you, I say go for the bad type. And for guidelines I recommend having a high INT (for skill points) and END (for health). And if you play on PC I could recommend you some really good mods that don't change the game too much.

The most important skills that I used in both playthroughs, were Lockpick, Repair, Small Guns, and Sneak.
Lockpick goes hand in hand with a Bad Karma character, due to you having the ability to get into owned lock boxes.
Repair allows you to keep your gear going, granted you have copies. This also allows you to save caps on repairs with merchants.
Small Guns, obviously.
Sneak, is handy for stealing stuff in general, and getting the drop on your enemy.
Since I have the Game of the Year Edition, I have all the add-ons. In the Operation Anchorage add-on, when you finish it, you get a stealth suit, which virtually acts like a reusable stealth boy. Coupled with a high Melee weapons skill, and high critical chance, you take out most foes with one hit.

Some handy perks I used were Scrounger, for lots of ammo, Silent Running, so enemies can't hear you coming, and a few others I can't think of at the moment.

Stealth, Small Guns, Speech

Fast talking killing machine. Sneak is so overpowered with a decent gun. Easy to do, too.

INT of 10. INT of 10. Give you so many more skill points, you can do basically anything.

What I did was sink a lot of points into Science and Lockpick, because they yielded high experience and reward. It's good to have high Repair, so that you can make a lot of money from repairing weapons and appearal you have, and it also makes carrying stuff easier.

For S.P.E.C.I.A.L., put points into Intelligence so you have tons of skill points.

For combat, I specialized in Small and Big Guns, usually using the Combat/Terrible Shotgun, Assualt Rifle and Missle Launcher.

Everything that you just said is correct, except for the speech part.
It was handy, but it didn't really feel necessary in order to progress through the game.
You don't even need high speech. Just save before talking to any major character, and when you screw up on dialogue or checks, just reload. Simple as that.

Highest to go with SPECIAL on creation should be nine because of the bobble-heads (and Intense Training), so if you put 10 you basically irreversibly threw away one SPECIAL point. (Immediately head to Rivet City for the INT bobble-head)

P.S. Also no need for speech if you want to cheat, just quick-save before the challenge and load if you fail. (if you have the patience, of course)

When choosing your Specials, everything should be at 5, with 5 points to spend.
Reduce Charisma and Perception to 3, since they're basically useless.
make Intelligence 9, that leaves 5 points.
Put 2 in Strength, 1 in Agility, 1 in Luck, and 1 in Endurance.
You now have a great Starter Class.

But now you don't have to MAD RUSH to rivet city for the bobblehead.

Suck luck dry. Make Luck 1. Then add 5 to INT. Add 2 to AGI. And 1 to Endurance. And 1 to Perception. You're golden for anything.

You have a point.
I boosted my Specials up easily due to an exploit.
AFter I got my stealth suit, while you're wearing it, you can put on as many hats as you like. With a whole bunch of stat boosting hats on, almost all my specials were at 10 before level 9.

If anything, you should suck Perception dry.
Perception only really helps with noticing enemies on the compass. Otherwise, it's just small skill boosts.
