This is not a Bethesda versus Obsidian thread, take that shit somewhere else. I present two options of potential Fallout 4 settings. The first is the Boneyard, former Los Angeles and a settlement in the New California Republic. Following the events of New Vegas, even if the NCR won in the Mojave campaign, it was clear that the NCR was stretched too thin. The NCR has a hard enough time controlling the bandits of California without dealing with the Mojave, so whats to stop the whole nation collapsing on itself in the meantime? It would be cool to see a fully functioning nation in Fallout falling apart rather than being built up like in New Vegas. And it would totally fit with the series theme of history repeating itself and nothing lasting forever.
The second option is the Commonwealth. Mentioned in Fallout 3, the Commonwealth is home to the Institute, mysterious builders of sentient androids. Also involved is The Railroad, an underground movement ferrying sentient androids away from their oppressive creators. This would be a great way to involve more mad science into Fallout with plenty of crazy robots, and the slave allegory would be worth analyzing in greater detail.
So take your pick and give a little explanation for why.
