I'd expect it to have timed exclusive DLC on the Xbox One but there is no way Bethesda would agree to an exclusive release of the game. Especially considering the popularity of their games on the PC.
Yeah, I really don't get why this is still common practice in alot of those statistics.Da Orky Man said:In reality, if they don't track digital sales, then they're figures for PC are essentially useless.
I know what you mean. Being a student sucked for me too, money-wise.Anyway, I'm confirmed to not be getting a console this generation, at least for a good few years due to university budget, so I'm stuck with an admittedly-nice laptop I recently bought. SO possibly no Fallout 4 for me![]()
I would be incredibly surprised, considering how big the PC modding community is for Fallout (and especially Elder Scrolls) It would be a direct kick in the teeth to a huge, HUGE chunk of their fanbase, and the amount of bad blood from that would cripple the game before it even launched.Genocidicles said:This'll never happen. I could at most see it being a timed exclusive (even that's incredibly unlikely), but a full on one? Nope. Bethesda knows they'd get more money from going multiplatform, and they've always been PC first (apart from Skyrim's DLC)
Well if they are paid millions and billions , that would make up for the sales ... I ... Logic where are you?!TheYellowCellPhone said:![]()
There is no logical way that would ever happen. Even if Microsoft paid Bethesda millions or billions just to get the one game to be an exclusive, they still wouldn't do it. It'd be suicide for the company.
I like the way you think.krazykidd said:Best case scenerio : it's available on all consoles and PC
Likely scenerio : it's available on PS4 , Xbone and PC
Worst case scenerio : Xbone exclusive , sales are terrible because no one has an Xbone , it get's ported to PC and PS4.
So no need to worry , it's WIN/WIN\WIN for us.
Ha good point. At last count I have around 75 games digitally (Steam/GOG etc.), and only around 15 actual physical copies, for PC. The physical copies are all bargain bin $9 jobs from the local EB Games, so likely sold at a loss below retail price.Da Orky Man said:In reality, if they don't track digital sales, then their figures for PC are essentially useless.Chris Tian said:VGCharts does not track digital sales, so the PC numbers should be alot higher in reality. As far as I'm aware, a good chunk of Bethesdas fanbase is on PC, because of the absolutly awesome modding community.Launcelot111 said:I have a hard time believing this. A quick glance at VGChartz suggests that 360 sales for both 3 and New Vegas were at best equal to combined PS3 and PC sales. I don't know what could possibly convince Bethesda to exclude half of their audience, assuming console loyalties persist across generations.
OT: I dont belive that, they would loose over half ther potential customers, even more if the XBone doesn't sell so good this gen.

Isn't the Examiner known to be a bullshit factory? Why even listen to them?Terminate421 said:http://www.examiner.com/article/fallout-4-xbox-one-exclusive-rumor-details-revealed?fb_comment_id=fbc_522456414458106_5359678_522988617738219#f322fa38b4
I call bullshit on this one but I am also nervous if this is true, part of the reason I was comfortable being able to not pick up an Xbox One is knowledge that Fallout would still be available on PC.
(I would miss Halo so dearly)
Still, just a rumor. Wait till E3.
It wouldn't make sense from both a traditional or business perspective, DLC coming out first I can understand, the game itself?

Stock and company value would drop, or the company at least would be laughable. Famous game being an exclusive to an increasingly unpopular console would cause repurcussions no matter how much dosh rolls in. Less company loyalty, ignoring the niche gamers (most famously the modding community), the game simply won't sell as much, and so on.krazykidd said:Well if they are paid millions and billions , that would make up for the sales ...
