A game good enough to be played without mods.
Console players are crazy, I don't know how they can stand vanilla Fallout 3/Oblivion. Makes me miss Morrowind. Every version of this game was awesome.

I would like more variety to everything. I know exploded and devastated wastes don't scream variance but its been a while with crazy mutations...in like 2 species. Seriously? Why do I fight 10 monsters over and over again, why does everyone where the same 10 outfits, how come all the buildings were built identically, I could go on for hours on this there is no variety they even go so far as to insult variety buy constantly having really wacky out there crazy things that are constantly repeated. Like the young boys who wear the same overalls and huge rubber gloves, I found three and I've not covered half of the world yet. Oh yeah also don't give me half of a really cool lovecraft/horror plot and then just stop right before explaining the true roots and revealing the climax, what the hell is wrong with you people at bethesda?

Though I judge harshly I love the game.

Less contrived plot devices. (Worst part of the game)

Longer main story arc.

DLC that doesn't randomly exclude the Playstation.

They were actually quite good about not having arbitrary triggers, but there was room for improvement.

Taller tech tree for greater specialization; again they were good, but taller.

The karma and companion systems could use some fine tuning as well, but now I'm just nit picking.

Less Oblivion, more Fallout. That's all.
As in... No Level Scaling, More Dark Humor, Bigger Focus on Dialogue and a better and more well thought out story?
And turn based battles with a terrible inventory, no immersion, scaled back graphics, and less fun and memorable gameplay?

That'd be AWESOME!!

European Fallout would be interesting (or at least bring in characters from other countires)
vehicles definitely
greater emphasis on speech
being able to actually join a town or group and gain proper employment (even though this would be hard to implement without becoming a grindfest)
weapon modification
less "dead space"
more cool shit like the flying saucer (such as the tardis in fallout 1 and the giant footprint)

For starters a deeper storyline would be better, fallout 1 was about saving your vault, fallout 2 about saving your village. That was the essence of the game, not some bullshit 'omg my daddy is gone, me want daddy boohoohooo!' Yeah sure the story developed further but it was always revolving around that old fart (about who personally i didn't give a fuck)
The enemy variety was shit if you ask me, (in fallout 1 & 1 there was a fuckload of enemies wich varied on areas) in fallout 3 99% of enemies are raiders and super mutants, i remember in fallout 1-2 i saw a supermutant and had an anal evacuation.
I WANT THE OLD TRAVEL SYSTEM BACK ARRRGHH!!!!!
and the black humour, and the drammatic influence SPECIAL had on gameplay.
More weapons.

The world should be more autonomus, and not waiting for me to press that thing for something to happen. I BLEW UP THE FUCKING MEGATON AND NO ONE EVEN NOTICED FOR CHRIST SAKE, in older fallouts that would be the talk of the day, FUCK the talk of the month!
In fallout 3 no one gives a fuck about anything.
Smarter dialogue, not that shallow THING bethesda feeded me.
[flashback: i remember when in fallout 2 i made a character with 1 intelligence and went and talked to torr in klamath (to whom if talked with a high intelligence you would make no sence of what he was saying) and talked to him, AND TO MY SURPRISE the dialogue i saw made me laugh to tears, saying 'ugh mom?' to ppl. Jobs you could take only if you had the reqired stat.]
Also it seems that fallout 2 is far beyond in the future after fallout 3, why? NEW RENO FOR FUCKS SAKE, MAFIA, FAMILIES, DRUG COMPANIES-DEALERS-JUNKIES
Ugh i miss al that shit, i'm gonna go and play fallout 2 again i guess, it's far more supperior to fallout 3 from my point of view.

I now it would take up a lot of space but it would be cool if you could actually hear your character talk so that conversations would be less halting and more interesting.

Yeah I know that would suck. I'd prefer a fallout with boring dialog, no rpg elements and unoriginal story with obvious plot twists. No interesting characters all voiced by the same voice actor. Oh, yeah that would be awesome!

Wait! I've got one more! A large empty wasteland with no memorable or interesting locations. ('kay thats a little bit over the top but the wasteland was pretty empty.)

Vault 106
Vault 112
The Mall
Dunwich Building
Paradise Falls
A FREAKING ALIEN CRASH SITE?!

Those are all VERY memorable spots, and that was just the last two days playing, and so what if the wasteland was empty, do you expect nuclear bombs to create a flourishing and bustling society?

I'd like to see a healthier city. Unrealistic? Not really. It's been 200 fucking years, surely someone somewhere has been able to recraft a functional, normalish-looking city.

Closest thing they got was Rivet City but that place makes me dizzy.

Nope, so why was it even there? I really don't understand whats wrong with the old fashion FO traveling system.

I know i went a little over the top with the "no memorable locations". The Mall was pretty cool, but I haven't visited all the locations you mentioned. Really didn't feel like exploring the vaults. I tried like two of them and then I lost my will explore them anymore.

i'd like to see a game that isn't basically oblivion wearing a mask

i love oblivion and i'm a self-confessed fallout fanboy, but i didn't particularly like fallout 3 all that much

I'd like some old school fallout splatter and that little funky box of text in the bottom left corner.

"Raider was critically hit in the eye for 150hp" and then see your shotgun rip out one of his kidneys. I know it was kind of broken but it was way better then the new system, If i shoot a dude in the belly i want a large hole somewhere on his torso not that his head explodes.

And yeah being able to complete the game without killing 4000people, I remember that f2 i could get pretty far with a female character by sleeping with pretty much everyone.
