As long as no achievements are linked to it, I'm cool.

SERIOUSLY! DON'T LINK HARDCORE TO ANY ACHIEVEMENTS!

you know what'd be really HARDCORE? Getting rid of "Save Anywhere". This way you can't just save before every battle, and replay it if you end up in a bad situation.
Why no achievements? That'd be stupid

More difficult modes usually amount to using a stealth character, because if you don't get it, you don't die. And no one likes being forced to use a certain character type in an RPG.

That sounds really awesome. Turning it into a survival game, could work really well. I don't suppose we will also get fatigued and have to find shelter to sleep? And they should probably remove the fast travel. It doesn't feel right, it shrinks the map, and jolts me out of the immersion.
And my god that golf club idea is epic! I must use it. I wonder what else we could do... Knock someones head off with a baseball bat?

I can't wait to play this game; loved Fallout 3 but thought it was too easy - this should rectify that problem :)

I just hope they don't nerf the power armour, like they did in 3. Maybe make it so it's really hard to get and you have to prove you don't really need it, but you get it. This should stop 5 minute power armour runs and power armour that doesn't work as it should.

So long as they keep to the promise of not forcing us to indulge in this overly fiddly micromanagement crap I think it's an awesome idea, this is what difficulties should be, not just scaling up damage and health.

Of course I wont play it that way, I have to monitor my health in real life, no need for it in my fantasy life, but awesome that it will be an option.

YES!

Ok, heres the situation, I played fallout 3 through countless hours and playthroughs, my character that I cant use anymore (I did EVERYTHING!) is walkin around with 50,000 caps, well over 100,000 bullets, and 900 stimpacks, and that was after VERY HARD mode.

thank christ they are doing something to prevent that from happening again...

Hopefully they'll fix the gun play from fallout 3 which was a great big plate of horse shit and salad. However, fo3 is still on of my favorite games, shitty gun play aside.
