Wasn't all of this information in the big "Fallout: New Vegas" story from a few days ago?

Looks to me like the Escapist is excited about getting it's first big exclusive, and this is just a blatant advertisement, like a "Check this out in case you missed it guys! (link)"

Considering it's not being made by Bethesda, I doubt it. I also hope they ignore fallout 3 in this game because I personally don't consider it canon.

Fallout 3 may not be the most cannon to the first two, but people who priped about it <<< people who liked and paid for it. so it should rightly lean towards fallout 3. I said lean, not be completely, but definitely lean.

Fallout 2 was an awesome game to be sure, but it was the least canon game in the series.
Tribes of some native-american wannabes, spiritual dream vision bullshit, mystery temples containing traps and C4, money.
Come on, man. Tactics was more canon than Fallout 2.

Just give me them sooner, unlike FO3, which took metagame knowledge or luck to find good big guns or energy weapons early.

Small Guns is practical, but really generic and boring.

The developers of New Vegas have some experience with making good RPGs so my hopes are high.

i really hope they pull through for this game, but i wish that bethesda would be making it instead of obsidian. i dont know they might ruin it for me, because i was watching a vidoc on it and i dont really want to control all of my teammates actions. I dont want to give them stimpacks, i dont want to babysit them, i just want them to follow and shoot people, thats it. I dont find controlling another entire ai as fun, but again, there could be alot of great things in this game that will make it just as enjoyable as fallout 3 was for me. Too soon to tell. Do you fine people at the escapist agree?

Meh, they do it all the time with the magazine articles. It can be a little annoying when I think I'm about to get some great piece of news and it just turns out to be basically just an advertisement, but I've learned to live with it.

OT: Yes new weapons, blahdy blah blah, etcetera etcetera etcetera. I'm keeping an eye on the Fallout wiki, so there isn't much new stuff that comes out that I don't find out about straight away. Makes no difference in the long run, because I'm still going to buy the game at launch anyway.

Also, apparently some people hate Fallout 3, and therefore hate Bethesda. Ok, I get it, and I'm pretty sure everyone else does too. It's not as if it hasn't been constantly talked about on forums across the interwebz since even before the damn launch. Can people please stop going on about it already? Anytime anyone says it, it doesn't feel like a conversation starter so much as it does a spark for another goddamn flame-war, especially if the entire post is basically "Fallout 3 is bad because it was made by Bethesda".
