before I played a friend (who also played fallout 3) described the Legion as ' the most sadistic monsters you've ever seen, most of which have flame throwers.'
OFF THE MARK. Biggest pansies ever. I then beat him with my home made raider pain spike armour.

Boone is a fucking eeeevil shoot. Seriously, the guy gives me a chubby with his rifle skills.

And Cazadores have become my #1 irritating game enemy.

I really do like the Fallout series. I know that they are great games. New Vegas is really fun and Fallout 3 had the best opening I've ever seen.
That said, I cannot play these games because I am absolutely shit at them. I have so many personal gripes with one goddamn part of New Vegas that makes me ragequit every time I get to it: the Brotherhood of Steel bunker. I almost always play as some kind of Speech/Guns/a lot of other things guy, so I end up spreading my skills out lazily to fit whatever I think I need, and when I finally get to the BOS bunker, I hit a brick wall because I can't do any of the options needed to continue the game.
That's not completely true though; there's one option that I can do, which is the peaceful route where you don't have to actually kill the Brotherhood, perfect for Speechy types like me. The only problem is, this option is so frustrating and tedious that I pretty much decide the rest of the game is not worth it.

I think that the best Fallout moment ever is when you try and face a spectacle wearing intelligent rad-scorpion in chess. The way you beat him is spectacular.

I really need to play through Fallout: New Vegas, considering I have downloaded all 3 DLC, yet haven't even played 1...

EDIT: I have only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Is it worth buying Fallout off Steam? You know, the one that was released in 1997. Is it a fun game to play? How different is it from the ones I have played?
It's pretty much a completely different game. It's turn based and your skills have a much greater impact on the game than 3 or Vegas. Many different ways to play it but if you don't like isometric style gameplay, you probably won't like it. I recommend getting it off of Good Old Games though, it's cheaper and it's DRM-free.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the Steam version isn't optimized for Windows. You'll still have to do some fixing in order for it work with your computer. GOG version on the other hand works up to Windows 7.
Thanks for the info about GOG. Just created an account, and bought it. Much cheaper than Steam. If I like it I will be sure to download Fallout 2 as well :)

EDIT: Not sure what Fallout: Tactics is, but I might give that a go as well.

No problem. I love GoG, got some really good old RPGs there.

By the way, Fallout Tactics is more of a turn based strategy game in the vein of X-Com rather than an RPG like Fallout. It uses a more advanced version of the combat from Fallout 1/2 and I heard while the story doesn't really fit with the universe/lore, I hear it's pretty good game. Wouldn't know myself, haven't played it yet. Worth trying out though.

Yeah, I'm only 16, so I was only 2 when this game came out. I have never really any of the games on the website, but I am interested, so I will be looking through in the future and playing some really old games which I have never experienced before.

I would also say that I am a bit of a TBS fan (I have Civ 5 installed on my computer, but I didn't compare it to Fallout because my guess is that they are completely different). Anyway if I don't like it, it was only a few quid, and at least I did try it :)

This here [http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/04/story-fallout-equestria.html#more] is a Fallout/My Little Pony crossover, and it's damn good.
I cannot stop snickering while I read this. But, in a good way.

Don't you guys just hate it when your intelligent mutant buddy gets stuck behind a rock somewhere, and you have to wait like 3 hours for him.
I also remember this one time when I was at a restaurant, I picked up a fork to start eating and suddenly the entire town tried to kill me. It was okay though because my cyborg dog and ex-army sniper killed everyone.

I commend you for not being a graphics/action whore. (unlike most kids your age)
Thanks! Fallout 3 is one of my all time favourite games, and, just going through the opening scene of Fallout, it is interesting to see where it all began (sort of, I know Fallout wasn't developed by Bethesda.

Got as far as travelling to Vault 15, then got killed by some Mantis along the way -_-
Forgot to save so I am going to give it another shot now that I know the controls a little better :)

Heard some more people got attacked last night.
Shouldn't you be banging rocks together?
Why don't you go bother the Brotherhood or something?
Why is it we always hurt the ones we care about?
You eyeballin' me?

I bought Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 from GoG last year and I just havn't found the motivation to play them.
You're not the only one. When you're used to playing Fallout from first person, with proper voice acted dialog (I supposed this can be argued), with First Person-shooting, playing the old ones are just really weird. I played Fallout 1, and I got to like.. the first town or something, and then I just lost any desire to keep playing. Haven't started it again since.

I consider Fallout New Vegas to be the best in the series. The fact that it made this video possible was a major contributing factor to that ideal.
