That is just plain awesome, and true credit of what can be returned for all that effort put into making Starcraft 2. If I was a Blizz dev, I would want to put that vid in a framed video player and have it on my wall. I did notice the framerate taking a noticeable plunge, but at least it wasn't into slideshow depths. I bet with only a little bit of tweaking that little hiccup would become inconsequential. What was most standout was the fact that the dungeon had a ceiling. You wouldn't normally expect that detail to be included in a top-view RTS engine.
Interesting that about half of the posts were comments about Warcraft 3's editor being used for a WoW mod. A lot of people there who don't bother reading the thread before posting. Plus missing the point that WoW was already based off of Warcraft 3(It tells in how the scenery is presented). Starcraft, being a scifi genre game, isn't something you'd expect to so quickly be used to create something like that. No cookies for the crew of
Captain Obvious.
And there isn't going to be a World of Starcraft. Not for at least a good couple of decades. The next MMO Blizzard is working on and has yet to name is a completely new IP. Nothing to do with Starcraft, Warcraft, or Diablo. I wouldn't mind though if it was with something even earlier in the Blizz timeline. Vikings, perhaps?
