Everything these days. Fans seem to be whiny snots everywhere you go. Especially fans of long established series that idealize the old through rose coloured glasses of their nostalgia and whine about how the new is not the same.

Despite the non answer of the answer, I agree with this. Fandom these days of pretty much everything is taken to such an absurd extreme. Between the bandwagon jumpers and the rose coloured nostalgics, it seems there's a lot of be ashamed of regardless of what you like. Heck, I'm a gamer now and have been one for over 25 years but there are far too many moments even just in the past year or so where I've felt kind of bad calling myself one due to the company it puts me in.

The people who are hating on "weeaboos", have any of you actually been to Japan? It's pretty sweet.
If anything it would be great to tap into some of that love people show their favourite series.

I think most fandoms have some really good and some really shitty people.

Even while saying, there are a lot of people in the Game of Thrones/A Song of Fire and Ice fandoms that really bug me. They hate some characters for the stupidest reasons.

I also really dislike people that watch a lot of anime or British shows and think this means that it would be perfect if they lived in Japan/England

I really really reeeeeally hate anyone that tries to say one type of metal is better than the others or that it's true metal. Personally, as a metalhead myself, I like most types of metal and there's no real way any genre is any more hardcore than the other. It's got different styles, sounds, and atmospheres that it creates.

Also, another fanbase I really despise is Anime fans. Specifically the fans from Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, and One Piece. They were all decent enough to me, but they aren't exactly the best animes in the world (I'm not entirely sure if that's the plural form of 'anime', so correct me if I'm wrong). I enjoy Elfen Lied, Black Lagoon, and Gantz quite a bit more than those. Though you won't really ever catch me saying,"OmG dis iZ tEh ShiTzluLZ!!1!!one!!"

I'd have to say that no game is worth the bitchery that Mass Effect garnered from its fans. Seriously, calm down.

Also, the Pokemon fans who create a zillion weird non-canon clones of Mewtwo and give some of them boobs: quit it. Right now. You know who you are, all you DevART folk that do that. Mewtwo does not need blades, spikes, wings, extra limbs, more tails, funny color schemes, or abs, and *certainly not boobs.*

- More relevant to the Topic would be the entire Command & Conquer fanbase, whom in personal opinion are on tier with groups like Sonic Fans. Every time a new C&C game is announced, it's met with cries of "RUINED FOREVER!". Even more hilarious is that Fans will often dig back previously complained about mechanics - for example, one common comparison on the run up to C&C 4 was between the Crawler system and the Workers system of Generals...despite previous fan complaints over the Workers system. Wat.

Yuri's Revenge was the last thing with Command & Conquer in the title that could remotely be considered a legitimate entry into the franchise. Everything from Generals onward is just EA wankery.

Agreed, considering that was the point where the Fandom basically imploded in on itself. Incidentally, YR is my favorite C&C Game X3

- Also, Games Workshop fanboys, and to an extent the store staff themselves. It may be different for other areas, but we're talking about a Fanbase whose average reaction to anything is pure, rabid hatred towards anything and everything that exists ever. Not to mention other players will constantly try to misinterpret rules, exploit loopholes and are just generally terrible, terrible sports. Much like your average DOTA/LoL/HoN player (though to be fair, Games Workshop probably deserves the fans they get - especially with the ridiculous price hikes and Matthew Ward).

What's just as bad is that people, at least in my part of the world, don't seem to get how goofy the whole 'verse is. People go on about how cool the chaos space marines are because they have the aesthetic tastes of an 11 year old internet tough guy and don't see why the Robot-Zombie necrons are silly (it's because their zombie-robots).

To an extent, GW has always been goofy. These are the people after all who invented weaponised Glam Rock/Dubstep weilding drug addicts who perform sex for the sex god [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7AC5M7F4ys] after all. However as of late, I'll admit it's been going from "silly" to, well...all together now!

I love the show, but the people who say they are 'Cumberbitches' and who try and ship John and Sherlock as a couple...no. That's too far. Their relationship is never sexual and never should be! Leave it at random comments towards each other and a bromance which is nothing beyond a friendship!

Bet the US version's casting of Lucy Liu as Watson will make them throw in a romantic subplot...

$10 says that they kiss before the first season finale.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this thread. You're supposed to be talking about something that you enjoy but whose fans annoy you. You obviously don't watch MLP so that doesn't count.

OT: A lot of CoD and Halo fans annoy me, I enjoy playing both games but both fandoms are full of people arguing about what is and isn't considered "skill" and almost every possible tactic save for a few is "noobish". Also MLP, but other people have already covered that.

Oh no I watch MLP and I quite like it but it's just the fans get to me so much that I don't like admitting it or being associated with them and their "clopping" ways...

(p.s. WTF is clopping? I assume it's pony porn but... It can't be, can it?)

FYI, the vast majority of bronies DO NOT clop. I hate that it even exists. But if they aren't hurting anyone, then I leave them be.

Sonic fans. Seriously I love Sonic but I'm not one of those overly ridiculous jerks that find something to complain about. You guys instead of being like "Ehhhhh Sonic is only good in 2D, they should all be just in 2D 3D sucks sega make it 2D from now on." Instead of that how about you beg Sega to work on their 3D games and maybe they'll actually pull off something as awesome as Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. But it seems that no one can get past Sonic 2006. They one damn mistake and everyone hates them forever....just like Mass Effect 3
