Once people start getting sick of complaining about interracial related characters, soon it will be inter-species. Cant wait for the next FF where Sue Storm is played by an American actress and Johnny Storm is played by a Labrador.
Did you seriously just compare a white character being played by a black person to a white character being played by a dog
Was nothing racist in my comment - your looking way to hard. I was joking on the fact that inter racial/racial is the in thing to moan about (now people stopped complaining about woman in games). Once people have dealt with those issue in movies the next thing will be inter species. So when they reboot FF again people will complain why one of the characters isnt not portrayed as an animal. Ok, Sue Storm can be played by a Pigeon and Johnny Storm played by a Chinese man.
No, but I want a raccoon and a talking tree in my movies!

this is one of the few times I've actively wanted a movie to bomb, not because of any casting decisions but because this is an even more blatant "just to keep the license" movie than the Roger Corman Fantastic Four,

worse it doesn't have any hype going for it and the general buzz has been mostly negative (even ignoring people ranting about the human torch being race swapped), and at the end of the day I have no idea who the movie is for aside from suits, because this isn't going to appeal to the comics fans and there's nothing out there to show the movie itself, I've not heard or seen any leaked costume pictures or pre-release Thing effects, and there's been nothing to engage the average movie goer, no big name star or director.

Oh you mean the Fantastic 4 movie that's not based on the comics and is basically the Fantastic 4 in name only. Yeah not holding my breath that that will be any good.

I grew up on Fantastic Four. It was the first comic series I started reading. I see nothing in that picture that even comes close to anything called FF. It looks like the cast of a CW show on one of their lower ratings nights. Fantastic Four is supposed to be about adults. Accomplished people. The worlds best educated scientists and astronauts and mad scientists and such going out and adventuring. Seeking the unknown. This looks like something out of the Buffy'verse. Fantastic Four should not be "Real Genius's" or "Weird Science" . They actually tried that as a comic in the Ultimate books and it failed horribly... Twice.

The weird thing is having seen the Unreleased Roger Corman one... It was by far the best and most faithful FF movie yet made.

I almost wrote this
I'm officially a 30something then, cause the thought of looking at these 20somethings drags me down.

But then I looked it up and Mara is actually my age, and the others are late 20s. I'm so confused.

I liked Michael B Jordans performance in Parenthood, and anyone who's seen Kate Mara in American Horror Story or House of Cards does NOT want to think of her as a teen.

I still have a bad feeling about this movie. Hopefully it turns out better quality than that selfie. That is some Fantastic Duckface there Mr Richards.

I don't see why it has to be a reboot instead of just a new story with different actors, but oh well. Hopefully it won't be as awful as the first two. Also, I'm guessing it's going to fail on the realistic message if the filming is done now. They must be adding in all those totally realistic effects.

I didn't think the first two were that bad, gassy Galactus notwithstanding.

According to imdb there are two of these planned so the studio has a lot more confidence in this than I do. Regardless of the actors' real ages they all should get off my lawn look too young. There has been astonishingly little hype around this film so far that it does seem like it's coming out of nowhere.

Don't care. I can't see this being good. Ignoring the obvious elephant in the room (Reed should have grey hair on the side of his head), I just can't have much faith in the movie.

A more down to earth origin? Is that code for grim-dark BS? Because that makes so many movies better. Not like Avengers, a movie that wasn't grim or dark, made tons of money. Not like Guardians of the Galaxy made money. Nope.

Well, if that's the case, maybe Marvel can use that as grounds to get the rights back. I say this mostly so we can have Doctor Doom fight the Avengers at some point. Because that would be awesome.

NOLANIZATION! If it works for The Bat, it works for anything! It's like putting Sri Racha on everything, and has much the same burning sensation.

I don't.....I just......why do they have to look like sodding teenagers? I mean, I get the best actor for the role gets the part, but surely if anybody should be played by an adult, it's Mr Fantastic? I know he's not exactly an elder statesman in the Marvel Universe, but he's definitely an important figure. Could you see Professor X or Tony Stark or Nick Fury taking advice from this foetus?
Thank you both. I was worried that I was the only one who thought they were looking way too young. Seriously, I thought this was going to be some High School Musical spin off, or perhaps another Step Up.

Wow they filmed that fast...I wonder if we'll be able to watch this one or if this is going to be another case of what happened in the 90's; where there's a film and plans to make more but only to keep mean old-man Marvel/Disney from getting the rights back.

For example the spiderman reboot - why?
I am of the opinion that filmmakers really hate Uncle Ben.

To hold onto to the copyright: if they don't produce movies at regular interval X, they get handed over back to the original holder, ie Marvel.
But that doesn't mandate a reboot.

Also reboot < creativity in terms of expenses.
Nor does that, since they seem to spend so much time differentiating the stories.

Or both, or mixed racial parents. Presumably.
Yeah, as hard as it is to believe, you actually can be blood siblings with someone significantly darker or lighter than you.

I think the bigger question is why someone would care in the first place. In a world where a person can turn into a rock man because "cosmic rays," do we even really need to worry about inherited traits?

Now if only we could convince everyone not to go so it doesn't make any money.

Nice avatar BTW.

Watch this be the best movie ever

I know it won't

But watch it be a fantastic superhero movie, just not a good Fantastic 4 movie

I know it probably won't but let me dream

...

That's the cast? I mean the 4 people in the picture are the cast? None of them even look like they have pubic hair!

I mean I can't even pick out who's who. I guess sleazer moustache guy is Mr. Fantastic, but the scrawny little dude is The Thing?

I would ask why they are even bothering to make it Fantastic Four if its not similar (because I don't see the branding working to bring fans in with this) instead of just doing a group of people get superpowers thing that's not FF but I assume it's to keep the license.

Just to play devil's advocate a bit, I will say that Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, and Kate Mara are all fantastic actors (not too familiar with Jamie Bell). If you've seen The Spectacular Now, Fruitvale Station, or House of Cards, you'll know that they're all very capable of playing complex, flawed, engaging characters, age notwithstanding.

Does that mean the movie will be good? Not by a long shot. But there's always a chance.
