Wasn't their excuse for not being at Comic Con that they didn't have enough footage? But now a week later and principle photography is done? I guess they had to in order to meet their September deadline (rights would revert) but every time I hear something new about this film it just looks worse.

Normally, I am not one to wish ill on others, but I am starting to hope that everyone involved in this picture goes into career nosedive afterwards. They all work in an industry that is paid for by the masses yet everything about this picture displays nothing but contempt for the fans, just so Fox can win some pissing match with Marvel.

But then I looked it up and Mara is actually my age, and the others are late 20s. I'm so confused.
That's what Hollywood does. They get people well into their adult years to play kids. In Amazing Spiderman 1 the leading actor and actress were 28 at the time of filming while acting as 16-18 year old kids. There are a bunch of children and teens acting out there but Hollyood never casts a teenager for a teenager's role. I never understood that.

OT: Yeah, still not looking forward to this movie. I know the guys are just looking silly for the picture but to me they look like they just wrapped up filming for a lame cartoon-network or nickelodeon live action show/movie. I'm trying to be open minded about this movie and simply think of it as another "alternate universe" but how far away can you get from the origin and style of something before it has absolutely nothing to do with what it is derived from?

So will this be better or worse than the previous films? My money is on worse.

To hold onto to the copyright: if they don't produce movies at regular interval X, they get handed over back to the original holder, ie Marvel.
But that doesn't mandate a reboot.
Would you rather watch a sequel to Silver Surfer?

All the Fox movies are turning out to be quite shit, so they keep trying until they manage to set up an universe that they can milk with sequels.

Amazing reactions to one selfie on the street.

I will "judge" when I start seeing some of the actual movie, people in costumes, make-up, etc.

I am not really certain why people hate re-boots. I think Studios have a hard time, starting with brand new actors and not giving them an introduction. But to that end, Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Robo-cop, etc. The only one worth a hoot, was Batman, from a change perspective.

I think they rebooted it, so that they can have have an easier time if they want captain America and Jonny on screen at the time.

This looks like it will be bad. I am really expecting this to be bad. Maybe it won't be...but I'm thinking it will be bad.

Y'know what else I am also predicting...

Movie Bob will hate it...and then lots of people here on The Escapist will start hating on Bob for hating it on the claims that he hates it because it's not MCU.

...I'm expecting to hate this. I wish I wasn't. I wish I could look forward to this movie, but I just can't. Nothing about what we've seen of this movie sounds appealing to me, which granted is very little, and maybe my thoughts will change but...I just don't see this being very good.

Huh... It looks like Chronicle 2 is still a go based on that multi-selfie pic...

Other than that, I got some Chronicle to re-watch to prepare myself for this upcoming film...

Fun Fact: Adele,

...is two and a half freaking years younger than Carly Rae Jepsen.

Celebrity Age is increasingly an abstract concept.

I'd rather they just move on. That's neither strictly speaking reboot or continuation.

All the Fox movies are turning out to be quite shit, so they keep trying until they manage to set up an universe that they can milk with sequels.
Are we including the X-Men movies in this? Because I did think most of them were ass, but quite enjoyed First Class (and heard good things about DOFP).

Speaking of, remember how a good chunk of people changed their tune on First Class? I'm not saying this'll be a good movie, but it's amazing how quick people are to judge. People have hopped on every reason to hate this movie imaginable, even if false.

Just like they all hate on him for his grudge against Amazing Spider-Man!

Also, if this is an origin story, doesn't it make sense to have young (or young-looking) actors? People are continuity whores until they portray Reed Richards as a twenty-something. You know, like he was when the comics started.
