Good review, but you didn't touch on the god-awful save system.
That was exclusively for consoles. PC has quick-save and quick-reload options.

I borrowed the PS3 version from a friend and I could not get into it. As you wrote in your review, traveling from point to point was grueling, especially with enemy camps. Another point that you didn't go into in your review was the lack of impact your missions had on the plot.

Solid review, I'm guessing you own the PC version?

Well first off, no, I rented the PS3 version. Im a total PC guy through and through, but the problem is that there are a lot of games I want to play, but I dont want to pay fifty bucks for something Im only going to play for a few days and then mayby touch one more time six months later, so, I bought a PS3 for MGS4 and so I could rent games and see how much they suck for a fraction of the price.

Second, regarding immersion, a game should immerse you with little to no effort on your part. Bottom line.

Your character was a mercenary remember? He was sent there to kill the Jackal, but first you had to track him down, what better what to do so then by pulling jobs for the local militia he sells to. But I agree, more explanation was needed, and more coherency in general.

It seems like almost everyone has an issue with traveling, being frustrated at re-spawning guard posts and long distances. This was never a problem for me; it's simple really: use bus stops and AVOID guard posts! I'm surprised by your commentary on the graphics. I disagree. Cheesy looking fire? That's an interesting term used to describe a technical flaw; it's really cliched to to use cheesy as an adjective. I was mostly impressed with the graphics, can't say I had any anti-aliasing issues. By the way, "rite" is a religious act/custom, like "rite of passage."

But even for not liking the game, you covered it pretty well.
You don't even have to avoid guard posts. I play(ed) on hardest difficulty and I can just drive through a guard post in full speed and I might get three bullets in my car..

As for the review I liked it except for that you seem ot haven´t noticed the Buses as fast travel system.

As for the game, I liked the action, I liked the guard posts and the missions to some extent, I hated driving 20 mins to kill 1 person and then driving 20 minns back..
