Hello escapists~Sarah here.

I just started reading Comics after finishing my insane manga addiction, and after reading a stack taller then my flat screen TV in my family's TV room, I do have a short list of my all time favorite.

1: The Darkness
2: Witchblade
3: Assassin's Creed The Fall
4: The Walking Dead.
5: Sonic The Hedgehog.

So, after reading everything, I was wondering...what is your favorite top 5 comics of all time?

I have a strange feeling everyone will have 'The Walking Dead' on there list...

What is The Walking Dead, pray tell? Never heard of it. Sounds like a zombie thing, so it naturally holds no interest for me.

1. Transmetropolitan (Warren Ellis)
2. Sandman (Neil Gaiman)
3. Warhammer 40.000: Damnation Crusade (Dan Abnett)
4. Arkham Asylum: A serious house on serious Earth (Grant Morrison)
5. Star Wars: Clone Wars (Various)

How to describe it...Well, you know how alot of Zombie comics are just about the horror, gore, and killing?

Well, 'The Walking Dead' is basically...'What would you do? Where would you go? What would you think about?' Durring a zombie invasion. Basically it's about a group of survivors just trying to survive.

I haven't really kept up with comic books in a good ten years or so. But if we're talking all time, I can still chime in.

1) Daredevil - I liked the concept of a blind superhero. Most of the storylines were very good, including Frank Miller's legendary run. I can't think of a whole lot I didn't like about this series. Well, the black costume bit, I suppose. Plus, Stilt-Man!

2) New Mutants - It's X-Men all over again. This was more soap opera-y than action-y. Some of Claremont's finest work. Issue 45, in particular, comes to mind.

3) Excalibur - It's X-Men all over again, again! Only in Britain this time... I loved the general craziness of this series, up until, oh, Pete Wisdom came along. It started to drag shortly thereafter. The Cross-Time Caper was hysterical.

4) Deadpool - I don't think I need to expand on this. Where else will you see Captain America getting ro-sham-bo-ed?

5) Uncanny X-Men - I probably don't need to expand on this, either. Some of the greatest storylines and most-recognizable characters came out of this title. Most of my childhood dollars were spent finding out what happened to Nightcrawler and the gang, and I was rarely disappointed (only when Scott Lobdell took over did I find myself more disappointed than not). The Phoenix Saga, the Brood, Giant-Sized X-Men, God Loves, Man Kills.

Big Marvel fan (esp. Chris Claremont's work there). I could never really get into most other publishers. Might have to dig out my comic books while I'm hunting Christmas decorations.

I haven't read comics in years (Nothing against them, just had other things to spend money on), but I always loved Spider-Man's fifty monthly titles.

I hear they're down to single digits now, which is a shame.

Comic series? Hmm. To be honest I only read a few. Excluding things like the Watchmen wich are more of a one-off mini-series I'd have to go with Green Lantern. I've read some really good stories of late (and I sure did enjoy Blackest Night). I'm not sold on the new movie however. It just doesn't sit right. Though I'll reserve my judgement until I've seen the actual movie.

Beetle Bailey is an all time favorite, as well as Calvin and Hobbes. I really like the old Beetle Bailey magazines, all the comics in them are hilarious. Betty is also great, and Zits. Also Mutts is close to my heart.

EDIT: And Blondie is awesome too.

Cable and Deadpool will always have a special place in my heart. They're like the odd couple, except that they kill people. The Avengers were always my favorite when I was a kid, but they've kind of lost that magic feel they once had with me.

I'll just put in my top 3 heroes: Daredevil, Green Lantern and Batman. Most of the stories with these three are good. Some specifics: Long Halloween, Sinestro Corp War, Miller's DD run.

Also, I wanted to try reading Assassin's Creed the Fall, but I can't find it...

When I was younger I was a huge fan of Paperinik New Adventures [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PKNA]. It's seriously really good. The stories are darker than usual disney and at times really inventive. Larger story arcs were carried out over the years and they actually finished - if a reoccuring villain was introduced, chances are he'd actually get beaten for good in a future episode, which is goddamn rare in comics. I can still pick up an issue every now and then out of nostalgia and be genuinely impressed by the writing.

There's also a few webcomics I keep up with. Xkcd is awesome... when I can understand the jokes, that is. My favorite right now is dinosaur comics.

Given that I'm currently re-reading Alan Moore's Top Ten-books... I think I'll have to go with that. Not exactly as good as Watchmen, but also not as heavy-handed.
Overall I just love it.

Along with The Boondocks, Bloom County is one of my all time favorite sunday morning comics.

For like graphic novel types I'll go with Spider-Man. He's my all time favorite superhero ever and is the only reason why I got into comic books.
