Favorite Fallout 3 Weapon

Well, it depends. For a longer ranged approach I will usually use the hunting rifle, and if that lacks ammo, the sniper. For general charge in attacks, I will use the Chinese assault rifle, or Sydney's ultra SMG. Generally, I don't use melee, but when I have to, I use the strongest thing in my inventory. Usually a Deathclaw gauntlet. But, for funsies, nothing can beat the power glove for melee.

Scoped 44 Magnum and the Hunting Rifle (a kar98, I believe?). The FatMan also holds a place in my heart.

The hunting rifle is definately not a K98

My favorite melee is auto axe from the pitt and my favorite gun is the gauss gun from operation anchorage it does 75 DAMAGE !!!! anyone with me?

The auto axe is awesome, especially the Man Opener (best name ever) and Mauler unique ones.

The gauss rifle deals 100 when fully repaired with max perception and energy weapons skill.

It also has a critical multiplier of 5 so with 10 luck and finesse you can crit' 75% of your attacks. With the snide version of survivor guru you can up that to 90%

oh and theres the repellent stick.

nothing is more satisfying than beating some to to death with a stick

When he gave it to me it was in full condition and did about 32 damage per shot. I was ripping apart super mutants.

However, I've started a new game (haven't finished the storyline yet, just felt like a new game for some reason) where I chose to specialize in melee weapons. I'm trying to get the Shishkebab schematic and parts.

theres a quest that you can beat that you get one thats over 75% and its really easy

But if we're talking real guns, I would probably say any variation of the Plasma Rifle, including the one Harkness gives you in the Replicated Man quest (sorry for spoiling the Harkness is involved thing). Anything that reduces enemies to piles of goo is cool.

how has no one said colonel autumns laser pistol? its like a laser pistol crossed with the assault rifle!
(ok you have to cheat to use it at any point where theres an enemy to kill but still...)

i used the hunting rifle for ages, i generally use ol' painless over lincolns repeater though - lincolns repeater may do more damage, have a three times larger clip and be more durable, but what good is that when you can't find any ammo for it?

any time i'm not being a vats wh0re i tend to use the chinese assault rifle. sometimes i get bored of taking cover til my vats is restocked.

as far as mele weapons go, i look at how i skilled my character and have to wonder why i would bother. so i pick the terrible shotgun or the dart gun. nothing beats dart gunning a deathclaw and then trying to punch it to death at one damage per punch.

Combat Shotgun and sniper rifle - no questions asked. For enemies brandishing melee weapons however, nothing is as satisfying as sneaking up rather close to them, dropping a few mines, retreating and fire a few shots at them to attract their attention. Makes a nice splatter.

I've recently developed some affection for the Chinese Officers Sword... it's just so much fun to charge a group of raiders and then hack them apart with it.
