Now, being into indie music and fashion myself, I decided to take a look at some of these so clalled "indie games", and sure enough, I fell in love. I've gotten to the point where over half of my gaming is by indie developers.
Anyways, getting back on topic, my favorite indie title is probably "Pixeljunk Eden". It has a great, original soundtrack, interesting, new-ish gameplay, yet an old-school platformer feel that just gives it that tasty little cherry on top.
So tell me, what's your favorite, and why?
Actually, Braid did not cost tons of money to make. When the creator said he would need to make $250,000 to consider making a profit (or whatever the figure was) he was referring to the amount of money he passed up by not working a traditional job while he was creating Braid. The actual cost on it was quite low, as he created all the resources himself, except for the music, which he used public domain as much as possible.Altorin said:I'd say CC definitely counts. Size or complexity or cost don't determine whether a game is indie (Braid cost TONS of money to make and it's considered Indie)willard3 said:Castle Crashers? The Behemoth is a fairly indie-type developer, consisting mostly of Tom Fulp and a couple of buddies.
it's all basically down to developers making their own games with their own money or money from several smaller places (not large games publishers) and making a game.

DAMMIT! Both of my choices, for sure. You should also look into a game called Samorost 2--it's really short, and very simple in its storytelling, but it's (a little) difficult.qazmatoz said:Cave Story for sure.
