'ello. Recently I just ordered a 72" Spear Pole for my Jujitsu training and it got me thinking of what other people like and why. So, What is YOUR favorite Martial Arts Weapon and Why? I personally Like the Staffs/Poles since I prefer longer ranged weaponry.

im not sure is this is actual martial arts more medievil, but i do prefer the morning star over any weapon, it's heavy it's brutal, it's designed not just to crush but to also stab

however if you want an actual martial arts, i would have to say (forgot the name, it has a blade at the end of a rope)

or a nice Pair of Hook Swords

Any decent sword, really. I'm also fond of the nunchucks, since they were the first weapons I learned to use fairly well.

Chinese Broadswords, except with a firm blade, not the wobbly one people use at exhibitions.

Yup!

I find the Tonfas are so quickly overlooked and under-used these days (At least in my experience), but they are such a simple and yet effective weapon. Sure they aren't a katana or something else rather 'fancy', but sometimes you don't need fancy. Sometimes you just need some fashioned wood to punch someone across the jaw with.

Ya Tonfa rule. Have a set myself but my training hasn't gone far enough to do proper stuff with them. So its practicing my patterns using them for the hand attacks.

And one of my all time favourite weapons, the Bo staff, but not the tapered version.

I go with the big stick. A simple weapon to be sure but knocking someone out is fairly simple; I like to keep it simple.
