To use a liberal meaning of companion here, I have to go with Yeoman Kelly for the best. Just...because. Miranda would have had it, but I screwed up during the scene when she argues with Jack and now she won't talk to me. Dammit, how much of a paragon do I have to be to get that dialog option?
-You know how the paragon scale is in levels? Well, once it's on that last thick part of the meter (just before it's completely full) is the least you can have in order to keep both Miranda and Jack. Just save Jack's mission for after the Heretic base and, well if you're a true paragon, you should have enough by the end of it.

ME1(best)= Wrex is a god(if he was real).
ME2(best)= Mordin was a legend even after he died.
ME1(worst)= Ashley she shoot's Wrex... I killed every other mother *beep* who shot at wrex, so when they ask who i was saving, i was off that planet with Kaiden before Joker could finish his sentence.
ME2(worst)= Morinth for possibly replacing Samara who was awesome as a team member(I used Samara for every mission that i could)
Why didn't you charm or intimidate Wrex down? No one has to die then! :)

I don't know actually. So far I like Zead, he seems like the kind of guy who knows how to have a good time.

1. Tali
2. Mordin
3. Garrus.

-I've had a thing (like many apparently) for Tali's character since ME1, and here she's done to a T. Seriously, I wouldn't have written her any other way. Liz Sroka (Tali's VA) really outdid herself, especially with the Tali personal mission and love subplot. Talk about emoting!

--Mordin was great, but for all the reasons others have already mentioned, and Garrus was just a blast to have around again.
Talking about VA work, Garrus's VA sounds more...smooth in ME2. Made me feel a little funny... Is it gay if it's a Turian?
I know what you mean, Tali's personal mission nearly made me shed a tear, but I didn't because I'm very manly... *cough*. But yeah, I love her voice, personality and she just seems like a real, genuine character. I think Garrus was vastly improved improved as well, he seemed genuine.

Erm, overall I'd say Tali, Garrus and Legion. Do love Mordin as well, just not as a party member. And Wrex was the best part member in ME1, but I kinda like him uniting the Krogan clans more.
Can't stand Jack, she really winds me up.

I reloaded to charm wrex, but i will always hold it against her(I hate her she's also a massive racist, atleast when wrex is racist he is funny about it.)

Actually Lol'd there! Fair enough though, I guess you just can't 'unsee', some things....
EDIT - Although to be fair she is a more of a speciesist than a racist!

Wrex. Why? Because he's a fucking Space Dinosaur.
Seriously. There is no way I could ever hate him. And Grunt continued the awesome legacy that Wrex had started.
It's a rare thing when I don't have a Krogan on my mission team.
That's how I play the game! Wrex was my favorite because in the first one he seemed to have the most depth to his character.

am i the only one that thinks garrus is verrry boring? i just dont see any strong personality to him, hes just some standard turrian, someone like a phycopathic biotic ***** or a sexy asari justicar who has to kill her own daughter is more appealing to me, i just think hes not very quirky :p

Another good thing about having a Krogan on the team is that they make great tanks with thier high health.

Poor old Miranda, Jacob and Jack get killed half the time but Grunt is always there, smashing heads in with the butt of his shotgun...

Does anyone actually like Jacob?

I find him second only to Kaidan in the 'most boring companion' competition.
Kaiden was my fave ME1 character and I love him, I think male gamers just hate him for no good reason tbh (this is the feeling I get reading escapist posts, anyway) I found him very useful (he owns Saren the final fight) and mourn not having him in ME2 Jacob is a pale shadow of Kaiden, they are trying too hard to make him smooth but instead he just comes across cocky and disinterested, Bioware dropped the ball with his personality (Kaiden was effortlessly likeable, speaking as a female gamer) and I am thinking my paramour achievement is gonna come from Thane who is far superior as a character.
My favourite ME2 character is Zaeed, the dude is a dude! Jack's pretty cool too.
I think Kaiden and Ashley were both pretty bland, dunno why. Ashley was a bit bitchy during group gatherings and Kaiden...was just Kaiden. He never struck me as someone interesting, maybe i should have done some loyalty mission with him or something, dunno.

Liara was tolerable in ME1, if a bit prone to swooning (twice she got the "vapors" during group meetings), but in ME2 she became a bit more fleshed out and interesting (what with her quest against the Shadow Broker).

My favorite character, has to be Legion. Now, this is not because of instant likability or something, but because hes an interesting character. When i first tried to talk about individuality with the guy, i felt a genuine sense of confusion from him, despite his emotionless voice.

Gotta go with Wrex. A pensive old space-goanna who kicks arse six ways to Sunday.

Honorable mentions go to Liara, Jack, Legion, Mordin, Garrus, Tali, Samara, Kasumi and Grunt.

...

It probably would have been easier to say just, "all of them."

EDIT: Urg. I just realised how old this thread is. Damn resurrectionists.

You're quoting me from like over a year ago.................. :O
My feelings are still the same, btw. And you'll all be sorry cos Kaidan is officially a bad ass now, lol............
You should have chatted to him and you should not let the game auto level him either :)

You can pick one from either ME 1 or 2. And with them all combined, there's obviously too many to fit into a poll.

My choice is still Wrex. He's got badass in all the right places. Of all Bioware characters, he's second only to HK-47.
agreed with wrex, i gotta say, if there was a romance sub-plot with him... id do... hot shepard loving... plus it would be lol-tastic
