I'm gonna go with "Zardos." It's an old Sean Connery movie with a post-apocalyptic setting. However, nobody else seems to have heard of it. I like it becasue it is funny to see Mr. Connery go around shooting people while wearing nothing but gun holsters, knee boots, and an orange speedo. Oh, and the long braided hair and handlebar mustache help.

I dunno if they're that obscure but I wouldn't call them mainstream either.
-Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
-The Big Lebowski

The only obscure movie I can think of that isn't in my kung fu movie collection is Idiocracy. It's my favorite movie, but I think it was direct to DVD, which makes it obscure.

Repo! The Genetic Opera

Never heard anyone talk about it, never saw any advertisement and I haven't found it on DVD.
The only reason I know it existed is because of TvTropes and the wikipedia effect.
Nobody talks about it because it sucks almighty ass.

My favourite obscure movie is a Japanese monster movie called 'Gappa: The Trifibian Terror'.
I severley doubt anyone has heard of the awesome Gappa.

Not Gamera the giant radioactive turtle thing; Gappa.

"Dodgeball" or "Cabin Fever".

Mine is "Shaun of the Dead" and "The Fifth Element".
None of those are oscure. Seriously.

My favourite obscure movies are:
  • The Butterfly Effect - I've only met 2 people who've heard of it.
Who the hell HASN'T heard of the butterfly effect?!
I had the same thought

I would say Donnie Darko, but see as how many people on here know what that is and despise it, I think it best not to.
i liked donnie darko =/

I was just saying general, because I've seen that movie come up a few times on here, once brought by me, and ever time someone says "Yeah, well, it sucks" or something to that degree.

P.S. Glad to see I'm not the only one, though :)

Obscure =/= Weird. L2scribblenaut

Jacob's Ladder, They Live, Prince of Darkness, Bosque de sombras. Can Leon: The professional or True Romance be considered obscure? I rarely hear them mentioned.

That is one of my favorite movies of all time, great choice. If anyone here hasn't seen it, rent it now.

I saw that movie, it was pretty good.

Mine would be Tokyo Zombies, unless it doesn't count.

I don't know if these really count as obscure, but I'm putting my vote down for 'A Hard Day's Night' and 'Help!'.

Watchmen. I thought I was going into the same thing as everyone else, but actually the theater was playing a different movie by the same name - one that was a reasonable ~three hours long, acted well, sensical, and vastly superior to its comic book origin.
