Eraserhead
Was gonna pick that one too, for it's sheer WTF value.

Other favourites include Bicycle Thieves, an Italian neo-realist film made in 1948 which I somehow found incredibly captivating, and Clerks for it's awesome dialogue.

For me, it's Linda Blair's 1984 comeback movie, Savage Streets. I'd say it's pretty obscure these days. A good old-fashioned 80s exploitation/revenge flick with a bitchin' soundtrack.

I really don't know what qualifies as obscure. I've got some cult classics I like. Green Street Hooligans even though it's mostly just a Fight Club knock off.

I would have to choose Lo. Its a very low budget film that somehow manages to create a comedic "horror" love story. The makeup and soundtrack are actually very good considering how low budget it is.

It also pays homage to classic theatre, which I love.

Franklyn, because I know that one's obscure. I don't know how obscure these are, but: Unthinkable, a story about the torture of a terror suspect, and Outlander, a film about a member of an extrasolar soldier who crashlands in Vikng era Norway.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley- a tight-as-balls story about the Irish civil war
Moon- a guy lives on the moon and learns the horrifying secret about why he's there
Chaos Theory- Ryan Reynolds' life is destroyed so he decides to let chance dictate his every action
Sunshine- a team of scientists fly a spaceship to the sun to jump-start it with a bomb the size of Manhattan
Outstanding list, I've seen them all apart from Chaos Theory.

Moon and Wind that Shakes the Barley are personal favourites.
Those are just the ones I had on me. Another good one is Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter.

Very few people I know have ever seen or heard of Pathfinder... Might not be obscure enough for you, but it was an enjoyable enough action-adventure with vikings vs american indians
It's a remake of a Norwegian movie about the indigenous people of northern Norway around 1000AD, and as usual the American remake is pure crap in comparison. So, if you liked the Pathfinder of 2007, you should effin Love the Pathfinder of 1987 :)

That's a tough question seeing as most of my favorite movies are generally popular. I guess I'll go with Fantastic Mr. Fox. I don't know if the internet knows about it, but everyone I know doesn't know about it.

I like it because it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The humor is extremely dry though, so it's not for everyone.
Awesome movie, the close ups on the faces were creepy though

I guess, most recently, poultrygeist is my favorite obscure movie. I don't know how to explain it, although it is EXTREMELY profane. I wouldn't recommend watching this after eating.
Do you mean Poltergeist?

nope http://www.poultrygeistmovie.com/

Donny Darko. Holy crap that movie was fantastic. Seriously, it was the:
BEST
DAMN
MOVIE
EVER.
Watch it, or you will never have seen a truly great movie.
It's all about time travel and psychological stuff. It's really confusing, but as long as you pay close attention to every character and detail, you can make it through.

Let's see...
Young Einstein [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096486/] - An alternate history tale of the early days of Einstein, involving a pie made of kittens, a romance with Marie Curie, and diffusing a bomb with the power of ROCK.
The Last Dragon [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089461/] - A "blacksploitation" kung fu movie. It's too absurd to really describe, so I'm just going to say, "Who's the master?!"

Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde [http://youtu.be/Hte7R1TVgBY] (1971). No, not a comedy - a horror film. And yes, it's as bad as it sounds. I love old Hammer productions.

I'm a huge huge David Lynch fan.

If you've got a tolerance for movies that don't make immediate sense, go pick up a copy of

Eraserhead

Blue Velvet

Mullholland Dr.

Inland Empire
I agree. Well, on Mullholland Dr. at least. I haven't seen Blue Velvet, I couldn't stomach Inland Empire and Eraserhead was just painful.
Would you call him obscure, anyway? I thought he was pretty famous after Dune and Twin Peaks.

Yeah, obscure's debatable. With that said, asking anyone about Dune or Twin Peaks these days and it almost guaruntees lots of "huh?"s. And as arguably popular as Twin Peaks was, or as high profile as Dune was, I don't think they drew TOO much light to his other movies.

Man bites Dog. It's a brilliant satire, dark comedy, and horrifying movie. It's a mocumentary wherein a crew of Filmmakers follow a serial killer, recording his actions & getting to know him. The main character is highly charasmatic despite his being a murderer, and is very interesting. And while the movie has several brutally horrifying moments, the movie also serves to be very funny.

Also, The People Under the Stairs. As far as I'm concerned, this movie is Craven's masterpiece. Intriguing premise, slick cinematogrophy, good acting, and creepy atmosphere. The movie is something of grim fairytale, and feels very dreamy (makes sense, as Craven claims he dreamed the movie shot for shot.).
