What is your favorite racing games ? do you go for super realistic or arcade type racers. street racing or tracks ?

Personally my favorite racing games have been the midnight club series, especially midnight club 3 and Los Angeles, they were both a blast to play and the car customization aspects of really well done and fun to use. I all around love these games

Most racing games bore the pants off me but for some reason I love Motorstorm, maybe it's the similarity to pod racing?

Saw a post like this not too long ago -

Rollcage Stage 2 is something I really wish would be revived.
Trackmania Nations Forever is a very fun stadium track racer.

Super realistic, while it's not really my thing, I actually liked TOCA 3. I've heard great things about Grand Turismo 4, but never played it.

I enjoyed Metropolis Street Racer even though it was a pretty bad game (came out on Dreamcast).

Favorite is probably Carmageddon (if it counts.)

But the worst racing game I've ever played has to be Baldur's Gate 2.

I love the Mario Kart series, and have never played a 'Kart game I didn't like. It's great for fun and senseless racing.

If I want a really technical game, I go for Gran Turismo 3 and 4, and Forza 2. They are a lot of fun once you start winning races and earning stuff, and actually require you to calculate and adjust.

Motorstorm was fun for one reason

it ignored the Bullsh£t that Gran turisno and all other racers do

while for me

it's Burnout Paradise

it did everything perfect

it knew that if i want to go Hundreds of miles perhour it would make me feel it (I'm looking at your Ridge Racer ,,,,,saying im gong 200 miles perhour when it feels like im crawling)

it knew that if i wanted to go around this turn i would want to go around it fast

it knew that i didn't give a crap about real world cars

it knew that Finishng first is everything and time trial is boring

it knew that Crashing is what we all want to do

it knew that i wanted to listen to a catchy song while playing

...............

wow i can't believe how perfect Burnout was and is,, i'm still playing it today
and dam hom much i still enjoy it

since Burnout 3 i have never ever found any intrest in other Racers,,,,,

If I had to seriously reply, this would of been it, but there is pretty much JUST it.
I dabbled with F-Zero and Cruis'n a bit on older system that they originated on, but that's where it all but stopped. Not to say that I didn't enjoy them, but it was nothing I would ask for Christmas when I was little.

Racing games get old quick. The only one I ever really enjoyed for a significant length of time is Mario Kart.

Crash Team Racing, Need For Speed Underground 2, Dirt, Grid and I suppose Purnout Paradise is pretty good (but it's nothimg compared to the awesomeness of CTR!)

Depends on what I'm in the mood to play. Gran Turismo if I'm up for a serious, technical driving sim, Mario Kart if I'm not.

Guess I'll have to check out this "Burnout" you all speak of...
Once you discover the joys of Burnout Paradise's "Freeburn" online mode, you will never, EVER, want for a better online racing experience.

This is assuming you like the idea of an arcade racer in a free-roaming city where stunts, stupidity and knocking other drivers into walls is rewarded. Take all of this, put it online with 7 others, and you have yourself some awesome.

Other racers I enjoyed throughout the years: Rollcage; Wipeout (series); Gran Turismo (only played 1 and 3), Trackmania, Micromachines V3, Monster Trucks.
