Oh, screw this. I'll just say "all Treasure shmups". Since I can't pick one that's really a lot better than the rest.

It really would just be enough if they made the games without region coding. I hear the Xbox port of Dodonpachi is pretty badly done, though, noticeable input lag being the most grievous offense. I'm not holding much hope for Deathsmiles faring much better.

Apparently they've apologised for the problems and are dedicated to patching it.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I wanna know if anyone's tried Gradius Rebirth yet?

I'm thinking of giving it a shot, $10 on Wiiware.

On topic completely though, I love Shmups, both 2d space shmups (Lifeforce, Gradius series, R-type series, Ikaruga), and infantry shmups (Contra, Metal Slug, etc)..

Amazing how the simplest concept can lead to some of the most extreme challenge in videogames.

i find it scary how I have played about 90% of the games (the REAL shmups, not halo, painkiller and that un-shmup BS) listed on this thread....although I am am both surprised and not surprised to be the only one who probably knows of RECCA (or summer carnival 92)

Oh I LOVE metal slug, hence why I got the Anthology for my PSP 7 MS games for on the go fun. Now if only they would release a Contra anthology *drools*. Me and my but still to this day play Super C on his Wii, FUCKING AWESOME AND HARD AS SIN!!! Too bad we tend to screw each other over and he likes to steal all my lives....bastard...
