Had to register to say my favourite

Yourself in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines

Nothing beats lurking around museums or enemy strongholds, lunging from around a corner and drinking the blood of some hapless catiff, especially when it's in front of their friends. The most immersive game I've ever played.

Of course the gravity gun and portal device come in a close second.
The good old single and double-barrelled shotty in doom 1/2 are up there too; my grade for a good fps is you need a decent shotgun that feels meaty and is fun to boot.

oh wow i got a few

the portal gun (portal)
the gravity gun (half-life 2)
the super nova (ratchet: deadlock)
the katamari (i dont know if this is considered a weapon but it causes havock) ( Beautiful katamari)
the scatter-gun( Team-Fortress 2)
the peace-maker( jak 2)

and i feel that the most fun you could ever use in any game is... the bat that the scout in Team-Fortress 2 uses!!

Am i the only person here who hasn't noticed the lacking of a truly amazing piece of machinery?
THE FREAKING SHURIKEN AND LIGHTNING GUN FROM PAINKILLER!!!!
It's just infinitely cool
Ooh and the M37 from mgs3
The grenade launcher from RE:3 nemesis + acid rounds. So cool.
If anyone here plays ragnarok online, then asura strike + angra. 999K damage is immense.
And if anyone plays kingdom under fire, then fire pillar, kills off like half a unit at a time.
And, Excalibur, from the game, Excalibur!!!

hmmm no particular order but for listing purposes only

1. portal gun, o what fun i had in cone continous motion jumping around the maps

2. gravity gun, this plus a tablesaw blade= LOTS OF FUN

3. the .357 from Half-Life 2, its fun to kill anything with, because it is a hand cannon

4. the Nuke from starcraft: for a while my worst gaming nightmare was when i heard *BEEP* "Nuclear Launch Detected" then panicking and looking for the ghost before its too late. Or the satisfaction of making whoever I was playing do that.

5. Iron Lizard (Metal Slug) who doesnt like a gun that shoots metal lizards on wheels with rockets that explode

last but not least, like so many ppl said befoe me, the BFG9000, it left a legacy that will be around for a while

theres more, but i cant think of them

The Persuadertron from the original Syndicate was genius. Turn it on and whoever came near you became 'persuaded' and would thus follow your agent blindly. You had to gather a certain number of plebs before you could persuade a policeman. Once you had enough policemen you could persuade enemy agents. Soon you'd have an army large enough to take down any rival syndicate. Or, alternatively, you could just lay a bunch of land-mines and blow them all up for fun.
Actually I hated that, it made the game ridiculously easy on most of the citizen-heavy levels. Get enough citizens and guards together, and you could just walk up to an enemy agent and instantly capture him when you were within range (which is fairly substantial). Great concept, hated the execution.

Firing a rocket at the outside of a building and watching as the people inside came screaming out, their clothes and stuff on fire, was great though. It's the first case I can remember of the "explosion that kills stuff through a solid wall" phenomena.

(It's also further proof that most gamers are psychotic.)

I'm ashamed to say I'm probably one of the few gamers in the world who's yet to play Half Life 2 or Portal *embarrassed.*

Go get the Orange Box before we murder you.

Oh great, this doesnt say any particular games.
I would have to say one of my all time favoruites would be the "Zap O Matic" from Destroy All Humans 1/2

Also up there in my top favourites is any shotgun with a classic shotgun reload, for example, bioshock's buck, gears of wars and possibley battlefeild 2:mordern combat. Not GT IV'shotgun, as much as I love GTA IV, that is NOT a shotgun!

dual assault rifles from UT2004, because of all the grenades u can toss around

the Golden Gun in Goldeneye, jus because dualwielding them was fun

the Holy Hand Grenade from worms, becasue of the Big boom that it makes, and the monty python reference

the Lockdown that the Ghost from starcraft uses, if used right, it could turn the tide and really piss someone off

Orbital Bombardment from Dawn of War, because that could do some amazing things

Oddjobs Hat from Bond: Nightfire

Mac-10 from CS, i was sooo good with it, or i prayed hard enough when i sprayed, either way i got the job done when i used it

I agree with the Dawn of War. My gun is AN ORBITTING BATTLESHIP THAT NUKES YOU FROM SPACE.

Also the Bassilisks Earthshaker Rounds in the Winter-Assault add on. You know, the ones that make the entire map shake.

Just about every weapon in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, however, i'll list a few of the favorites.

In-Game Name (Real Name)

Akm 74/2 (AK-74) Note: Add a x4 scope and silencer for extra joy.

GP37 (H&K G36) Note: A shame they only allow you to use the x3 sight, instead of being able to switch between that and unmagnified reflex red-dot sight.

TRs 301 (ZM LR-300ML) Note: Same as the AK-74.

Tunder S14 (Groza OC-14) Note: Integrated grenade launcher aswell as high power and accuracy means instant love.

SVUmk2 (Dragunov SVD Mk2) Note: The Dragunov SVD has to be the most stylish sniper rifle ever made. *Drools*
