I'm partial to Mark & Recall in Morrowind. Mostly because it's the most useful spell in that game besides Levitation.

Frenzy on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Destroyed the Imperial City Market District with that spell...

Destruction rains from the heavens from Chrono Trigger. Sure it was one of Lavos's attacks, but I think it did magic damage, and it was AWESOME.

But if we're going to be SERIOUS...Luminaire from Chrono Trigger. Simply because its fun to yell.

"LUMINAAAAAAAAAAAAIRE!"

Aye, it was in Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights.

My favorite spell has to be Finger of the Mountain, from Oblivion. No other spell in the game was as devastatingly evil. It arcs through everyone and everyrthing, sending objects and people alike flying through the air. It is awesome.

Alternatively, the unused developer spell 'Fire Column Damage', which pretty much one-shots any creature guaranteed.

I'm an FPS gamer at heart, so when I played the original Fable, I was an archer. As such, I found that spell which made you launch multiple arrows at once very useful.

This. Odd how those are the two spells no in Oblivion.

I suppose mine would have to be a top 3, all from the same game, Populous: the beginning.

The angel of death spell, the volcano spell, or else the spell that let you change the height of the land around you. Submerge the whole enemy settlement? Yes please.

Probably Cure or any of its numbered/suffix-augmented cousins or its cousins in other games.

Wasn't too fantastic or anything, but undeniably useful, especially in FF: CC where I just tended to fight via attrition.

Oh, how I missed them... and Levitation. I loved Oblivion, but they got rid of my three favorite spells.

Finger of Death, In baldur's gate 2 and Neverwinter nights (i think) Because it is really powerful and has a lulzworthy name.

I'm just going to generalize and say Mesmer Domination spells in Guild Wars. You have got to love spells that inflict damage on an enemy every time they move, attack, use a spell, and so on.

I'll agree with you here...good choice.

Although my favorite modded spell in Oblivion was from the mod set "Hilarity", which had a spell called Incite Riot. It cast a wide-radius, high-level Frenzy and gave you invisibility. Cast it and watch the town tear itself apart.

NetHack magic is epic win. All of it.
Polymorph magic is soo much fun, but kinda confusing and morally questionable at times... I mean, what should my turned-agianst-her-will into a man do with a kitten polymorphed into a succubus?
I personally also like the stone-to-flesh magic. I mean, seriously. How random but awesome can you get?
