I liked Atlas too.

There was always something too benevolant about atlas ,but what the actual truth was........

what is actually big daddy a human in submarine armor?

Haven't you completed the game yet? They're humans in suits who have been mutilated into being mindless, groaning servants. Kinda creepy.

Well if I recall correctly, they have their voiceboxes changed in some awful way to make those groaning sounds come out, they get their skin fused to the suits, and I'm pretty sure they have their brains altered too.

That sounds like a mutilated human to me.
