Favourite Developer?

Anyway, favourite developer. It's a tie between BioWarea and id Software; BioWare for Baldur's Gate, id for Quake.

Simple is fine. I like simple. That's why Treasure gets the vote out of Eastern developers.

Paradox is my favourite out of the ones we have here in the west. I can't really decide whether I like Paradox or Treasure more. They both have different appeals.

To me, Treasure says Sin and Punishment (get bonus!), Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga (surprised concept has not been stolen. In fact, I want to make a 'gold mod' for COD4, whereby you can choose to be gold or normal, and gold guns kill golden people etc. interesting!) and Gunstar Heroes (best co-op ever). I love Treasure, though I'm really not a high-score freak myself.



I'm going to stick my head out here and say that Bethesda are now one of my least favourite developers. They have consolyfied (it's a word) too much. Not to my liking at all. Off topic: would anyone else like to see a remake of Daggerfall which has few enough bugs so that you can actually finish it?

Firaxis and Paradox Interactive are up there for me, simply because my all-time favorite games are the Civilization franchise and Europa Universalis III. Although I play lots of different games, those two feel like they were practically made for me.

I still have alot of respect for Valve, Blizzard and Bioware.

Nintendo are a publisher, not a developer.

Wrong! While they do publish some games, most of thier stuff is in-house.

Blizzard, Valve and Bethesda.

Blizzard for Warcraft and Diablo related shenanigans (I never really got into Starcraft).
Valve for Steam, HL1, HL2, L4D, TF2, CSS and similar shenanigans.
Bethesda for not making Fallout 3 a terrible game - and a little bit of Oblivion in there too

Relic is a close runner-up, but they are truly awful at balancing their games (eg. every Dawn of War).
