I've been thinking about this alot as of late and always said my favourite developer/companies have been Square, Capcom, Konami but alot of companies are moving up my ladder such as Namco Bandai, Ubisoft and especially Level 5 whose games to me have been consistantly groundbreaking or amazing since Dark Cloud.

So my question is, what does everyone mark as their favourite developers and why, what games attracted you to follow them as a company?
Also which developers do you see impressing you in the future?

Bioware, for their devotion to story and characters. They've always done a great job of drawing players into the worlds they create.

I have to agree on this one, I mean seriously they did KotOR, DA:O, and ME.

Rebellion, sure they've made some bad games but they do have Aliens vs Predator and because of that they're my favourite or Naughty dog.

My top three, in order of preference, are Bioware (for their deep, compelling characters and stories), Bethesda, (for their rich, expansive game worlds) and Valve (for their ability to accomplish what Bioware and Bethesda do to a lesser degree in a linear game).

Valve - although the lack of episode 3 is annoying the hell out of me
Cavedog/Gaspowered Games - Just for Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander
Square Enix
Relic - for the awesomeness that is Homeworld also Company of heros and the Dawn of War games.

BioWare is my favorite developer. Why? Their games are some of the best the industry has to offer. Star Wars KotOR, was my first BioWare game. I look forward to being impressed by Quantic Dream and Obsidian in the future. Also, if Bethesda can fix their facial animations, hire more then 10 voice actors and let me run diagonally, they might impress me too someday.

It's gotta be Rockstar for me, for all the GTA games and my own personal favourite game The Warriors. (PS2) They made sandbox games before it was a staple requirement...

Blizzard, hands down.

A lot of people will see this as a cop out, but I've been engrossed in Blizz games before I even knew about Blizzard. Blackthorne, Lost Vikings, and Rock and Roll Racing - ESPECIALLY Rock and Roll Racing - were some of the best games I played on the SNES. I joined back up with Blizz on the release of Starcraft, having missed their other RTS outings due to a wanting desktop, and I've been slavering for their releases ever since.

Bioware can weave an engaging yarn, but for sheer volume of fun and /time spent playing, I just can't beat Blizzard.
