Pipe bombs in Left 4 Dead. They're really fun during a horde attack. I love how the zombies forget you exist to go after the blinking light of death.

Agreed one time in dead air finalle, there was a huge horde of zombies coming for me ( was the sole survivor) I threw it and I watched them go after the blinking light and then watched them asplode.

The bouncing proximity ones from Perfect Dark.

Perfect Dark: The neutron bombs! They were like... drugrenades, if you got hit by one of those you got instantly high.

And yes, the proximity pinball from the "normal" grenades was hilarious!

The plasma grenades in Halo3.

Hitting a guy on the other side of the map when you actually meant to is just pure awesome.

It's the Holy Hand Grendade from Worms 2. As if being mega destructive and having a blast radius to nuke a small island - it sings Hallelujah before detonating.

I always enjoy a good C4 no matter what game it's in. But in CoD4 when I am playing for friends I'll set it up inside of doorways and then offer a truce. I'll walk through the door and then make a dash for it, detonating the C4 and killing my friend.

My favorite would have to be the vortex grenade from Fracture.

My favorite grenades ever were the EMP grenades in TFC with the Engy. Those grenades made the Engy an assault character because they could blow the bejeesus out of anything even through walls.

TFC had a lot of fantastic grenades. The nail grenade, while pretty useless, was fun to use because it definitely shut down a decent area for about 3 seconds because even though you wouldn't die from it the nails freaked you out.

The concussion grenades for the medic/scout were great weapons and great travel devices. I remember conc jumping across entire maps and air strafing all over the place to get to a specific spot. Specifically, conc jumping out of the front door in well all the way up to the sniper deck to take out a particularly annoying sniper.

The demo grenade was the most fun because the main explosion could kill someone then it spread secondary grenades all over the place which did significant damage. Took out SG nests, half of a team running out of spawn, Heavies all in one shot...

Someone who realizes the greatness of the 'nades in TFC. You couldn't call yourself a good player if you didn't know how to effectively use them.

Too bad they took em out in TF2. Probably to balance things out.

I loved those things, specially when you put the slowmotion on and throw like 5 in a room with all the stupid bots running in circles. Oh those were the days.
