OP, there's tons of us out there. If you don't know this already, I assume you're fairly new to online gaming communities (and thus why you don't know that "female gamer" threads are pretty cliche and played out), so anyway, welcome. May I just say that you've picked a lovely forum to join, and I hope you find what you're looking for here.

...That's not exactly a huge accomplishment.
Not to insult any of them, but we're talking about a group of people that (most of the time) partake in games for causal gamers or play games that even the average gamer would take awhile to finish (Dragon Age, Spore, The Sims, etc). Way I see it we should praise them for going the distance when most who start off lose interest halfway through.

From looking at your gamertag and Steam account you haven't actually played that many games, but I won't make any premature assumptions as I don't know the full story. In my experience, any female that can actually finish a game is worthy of praise.

This again?
I know how this is going to turn out... somebody's gonna make a response thread and-
Oh wait.
They already did!
That's funny!

Why do we get so much threads about female gamers? Are we not supposed to enjoy video games or something?
Well yes I'm female and a complete geek.
I've been playing WoW for 4 years and run a successful casual raiding guild.
You won't find a bigger Final Fantasy nerd.
I'm a pretty big Sims addict.
I love RPG's in general and enjoy some FPS's like COD and Halo.
I could play just about any sort of game.

I converted my wife by convincing her to download Steam. I've gifted a few games to her and she's so dang addicted.

She loves playing TF2 with me. Her favorite class is the Heavy. It's so dang cute!
This is success in a nutshe... wait.
Are you fucking serious?

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS

EDIT: *ahem*

That's success in a nutshell. More of this and that Extra Credits video will probably get its way. ^^

And I suppose it already is. Female gamers are flooding into the industry.

Hello,

Why not join the girl gamer group?

I am sure that you can meet lots of like minded people there
There's a group?! Oo

Seriously, where are you people in RL? >.>

It would be great for my self-esteem to meet one of y'all instead of telling people my hobby instead of getting the "Aww, so cute" chuckle from guys or the awkward stare/change of topic from the girls.

welcome to the escapist^^
Oddly enough, I never encountered that sort of gamer girl when I worked at Gamestop. Did get a lot of angry frat guys, though.

the list of games Ive finished is too big to acuratley remeber off the top of my head

my current backlog:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shadow of chenobyl
Fallout new vegas
Darksiders
Left 4 dead

I guess I dont fit your description bcause I had the Bizare Crazy obsession passion since I first saw the older kids playing a SNES, only now do I really have the means to play alot of games

it's an really over-the-top thing anyway, allthough someone funny. and the basic statement remains valid: many, maaaany of the female gamers will go out of their way to advertise their gender in order to get attention. and it can get very annoying.

I assume PSN/Steam is much like live with sexism, and creepiness.
Hell, judging by the reaction and troll thread here, she probably would've been better off not saying anything/ignoring 75% of the responses from gamer guys.

Huh. I haven't seen very much of that myself. Usually they just came into the store, shyly asked for a game/struggled to find it themselves and then bought it and left.

If it was so common, you'd think I'd see more of it.

You know whats crushing? A hot girl says shes a gamer, you play a game with her and she sucks. Lying doesn't win people.

one could see this very thread as a symptome of that behavior, for example. that's why so many escapists react so cranky about it. (not that it warrants trolling, but most people just get annoyed by that kind of mindset i guess)

For the love of God, avoid Call of Duty at all costs. Halo has less idiots than Call of Duty.

Well of course there's more girl gamers out there, it's a big world, welcome to the escapist by the way.

Just don't try and pull the "token girl" card, there's more than a few girls here already... :p

Otherwise, if you read any of my posts you may soon come to know of me as the darkly humerous, or downright psychotic, morose, jaded hateful ass that I am. but hell, can't change what I am at this point, just laugh at me or with me or ignore me entirely and you'll be fine!

Cheers!
