You know, I read something a while back on why people have foot fetishes so I'm gonna share it, because it's actually pretty interesting.

So in your brain you have a strip that acts as a mental map of the human body. This is called the somatography map (or something like that). This is how we remember features, all the facial features take up a larger area on the strip which is why we can distinguish faces so easily. So, the entire human body is on this strip and it just so happens that where genitals are on the strip is right next to where feet are. It works similarly to the somatosensory strip in that sometimes electrical signals to one area can spread to a nearby area as well, so that's why people have foot fetishes.

Here's a thought for dickgirls: They typically have both sets of genitalia, so depending on the fetishist, it could be a desire to transcend the current notions of sexuality, to be both Male and Female, to both give and receive "naturally."

Also, anorexia/ultra skinny, gasmasks, whips and cuckold - I have no idea or understanding for why anyone would ever think those things are sexy. Especially anorexia or cuckold - anorexia is people who are clearly sick, in need of medical aid and even if they didnt they would be so weak that you couldnt really expect any action. Cuckold is also really strange to me - getting turned on by not being allowed to have sex and on top of that watching your significant other having sex with other people to taunt you for it... I just dont get it - not from a logical standpoint, emotional standpoint or evolutionary standpoint does that make any sense to me. At least one could theoretically argue that sex with anorexic people could potentially lead to procreation so I guess there is an evolutionary reason (sort of) why it should not always be a turn-off for some.

Another thing I just dont understand are full blown fursuit-wearing furries. I have no idea what is so hot about banging what is essentially a giant teddybear.

I can see SM and BDSM though because they are not (nessecarily) about pain but rather control and for some people I can imagine that would be super hot - if nothing else then as a means of fantasy in being somehting you are not. My fiance has, in her medical studies, studied sexology and apparantly many very powerful people who are in charge at their workplaces have a much higher prevelance of enjoying submissive SM/BDSM than other groups so I guess that´s food for thought.

I also find furry, and by furry I dont mean like looking at antrhomorphs, that's like, understandable I guess, I mean like, fur suit, and dry humping in fur suits, to be just weird.

I suppose first I have to give you the fandom-approved politically correct response and point out that only a minority of fursuiters actually have sex in them. True, I have a fursuit and the mere prospect of having sex while bundled up in a thick layer of faux fur and other synthetic materials feels like it's giving me preemptive heatstroke.

That said, I can say that while they're definitely a minority, it certainly isn't bloody hard to find people who do this.

The explaination I've been given is that to some furries it's a matter of getting as close as possible to actually becoming their fursona, and to these people having sex in a costume of them can be an experience that's both erotically and spiritually exciting. I have a friend who says with a very serious face that when he puts his costume on, the spirit of his fursona takes over and gives him power. While I don't really agree, I'm painfully aware of how mystically minded a lot of furries are so I don't really have a problem with it.

As for fetishes I can't figure out, I guess anything involving bodily waste fluids. Not sexy, not sexy at all.

I know, as far as genuinely not understanding a fetish goes, this is it. I mean, you can't swallow a whole person. You would choke. It makes no sense! How can something physically impossible be sexy?
