Download them one at a time, it's faster. Or at least it should be
It couldn't get much slower. In fact, to get significantly slower, it would have to start taking the data back off of your computer.

Anyway, congrats on it being a mere spike.

How did you get your connection that bad?! I have NEVER even heard about people downloading from steam that slow until now! Congrats (or my condolences), its amazing! I personally think steam is great, your problem here is bad connection and having spread out your games... I'm sorry for you, hope you have something else you can do cause your not playing any of those games any time soon...

Also, not far from the Wifi station. But it's WiFi, meaning that it wears a gimp suit and is Weathers *****.

And I'm in Canada. And it's WINTER! *Seppuku*
Well, that put a very interesting image into my head. o_O

But yes, winter is a very bad time for most Canadians. Too much snow and cold! >_<

It's not Steam's fault your Internet connection sucks. Stop throwing a fit, call your ISP, and see what you've gotta do to get it fixed. If it's your home's WiFi and not your ISP, that, too, is not Steam's fault. Maybe you need a better wireless router.

In regards to your games being on the wrong account on Steam, you might be able to get them to move them. I'm not sure what their policy is on that, but if you never contact their C/S, you never even tried to solve the problem.

I'm disappointed in the Canadian weather this year though, last year we had snow in September and it didn't stop until this March. Wait, um... I'm disappointed in the Canadian weather this half of this year! It didn't snow until December and then only once.

OT: I'm assuming you're in the prairies, so how far out are you from the nearest town? The hour or 3 drive to a blockbuster to rent a game will be shorter than that download. Assuming they rent out PC games, I don't really know...

If all else fails, you still have Minesweeper and Solitaire!

I use Wi-Fi, and the average speed of my downloads is 2-3 MB/s. Of course, I also have verizon FiOs, so that's probably why.

It's the weather.

And I never blamed steam. How the hell does Steam suddenly crap out my internet connection? Somebodys assuming a little too much. >_>

I'll quote myself, if you read past my OP.

It's also the best gaming experience I've had all year. Easily. God It freaken rocks.

Yeah.
But, you see, I covered that in the rest of my OP.

"The Weather" may affect your router, but a good wireless LAN shouldn't be affected by the weather that much. Upgrade to Wireless-G (router and NIC card) or get a better brand of router is my recommendation. It could also be the wireless NIC cards.

What the heck does the router INSIDE my house have to do with the WiFi tower ontop of my house??

I have a direct cable from the Router to my computer, and it's a good router.

I think you have some facts confused.

Ah, well you see "wifi" is ambigious. A lot of us have wifi home networks, and this is the first you mentioned that. Even when you say "not far from the Wifi station" it's ambiguous, we couldn't know if you mean from your home network's Wifi station or from a town's Wifi station.

That sort of goes back to contacting your ISP for a solution though. You're probably not the only one they've outfitted with those WiFi towers, and it's quite possible they have some upgrade they can give it to fare better in the weather.

And then we are faced with another problem, that was never directly mentioned in the OP but clues were given.

LOL 3 AND 2 BYTES A SECOND OMFG w/ steam I get about 2 mb/s. I'd say the best thing to do (if possible) is to just go and try to get actual interwebz because not only is having plain wiFi no so great, but wireless has ALWAYS been unreliable. so =/ i got the cheapest comcast btw
