It couldn't get much slower. In fact, to get significantly slower, it would have to start taking the data back off of your computer.JoshasorousRex said:Download them one at a time, it's faster. Or at least it should be

Well, that put a very interesting image into my head.dududf said:Also, not far from the Wifi station. But it's WiFi, meaning that it wears a gimp suit and is Weathers *****.
And I'm in Canada. And it's WINTER! *Seppuku*
I'm disappointed in the Canadian weather this year though, last year we had snow in September and it didn't stop until this March. Wait, um... I'm disappointed in the Canadian weather this half of this year! It didn't snow until December and then only once.shewolf51 said:Well, that put a very interesting image into my head.dududf said:Also, not far from the Wifi station. But yes, winter is a very bad time for most Canadians. Too much snow and cold! >_<
It's the weather.geldonyetich said:It's not Steam's fault your Internet connection sucks. Stop throwing a fit, call your ISP, and see what you've gotta do to get it fixed. If it's your home's WiFi and not your ISP, that, too, is not Steam's fault. Maybe you need a better wireless router.

Well actually, I've been playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat. Which isn't bad, and it ain't on steam.Ridonculous_Ninja said:If all else fails, you still have Minesweeper and Solitaire!

But, you see, I covered that in the rest of my OP.dududf said:It's the weather.geldonyetich said:It's not Steam's fault your Internet connection sucks. And I never blamed steam. How the hell does Steam suddenly crap out my internet connection? Somebodys assuming a little too much. >_>
I'll quote myself, if you read past my OP.

"The Weather" may affect your router, but a good wireless LAN shouldn't be affected by the weather that much. Upgrade to Wireless-G (router and NIC card) or get a better brand of router is my recommendation. It could also be the wireless NIC cards. If it's your home's WiFi and not your ISP, that, too, is not Steam's fault. Maybe you need a better wireless router.
What the heck does the router INSIDE my house have to do with the WiFi tower ontop of my house??geldonyetich said:But, you see, I covered that in the rest of my OP.dududf said:It's the weather.geldonyetich said:It's not Steam's fault your Internet connection sucks. Ah, well you see "wifi" is ambigious. A lot of us have wifi home networks, and this is the first you mentioned that. Even when you say "not far from the Wifi station" it's ambiguous, we couldn't know if you mean from your home network's Wifi station or from a town's Wifi station.dududf said:What the heck does the router INSIDE my house have to do with the WiFi tower ontop of my house??geldonyetich said:But, you see, I covered that in the rest of my OP.dududf said:It's the weather.geldonyetich said:It's not Steam's fault your Internet connection sucks. I have a direct cable from the Router to my computer, and it's a good router.
I think you have some facts confused.
And then we are faced with another problem, that was never directly mentioned in the OP but clues were given.geldonyetich said:le snip.
That sort of goes back to contacting your ISP for a solution though. You're probably not the only one they've outfitted with those WiFi towers, and it's quite possible they have some upgrade they can give it to care better in the weather.
