With a lot more fighting games being revived or coming up into the online scene in recent years, there is going to in no doubt with a lot of anger coming either from bosses, low blow moves, or just random anger in general. So this is basically a thread to let loose and rant a bit, on your fighting game frustrations.

1)Balancing in Street Fighter 4 Well, some might say it is pretty good for what it is, I'm still just a bit PO'ed about some of these characters, mainly the shotos...or at least people like them...there are 19 fighters in SF4 (i have the PC version so no talking about SSF4 in this) and about 6-7 of them have THE EXACT SAME FREAKING MOVES! How is that good in concept, and even with that, they seem to like to spoil said character by giving their moves higher priority than moves of other characters.

2)Never being able to find a main This one might just be me as well but for reason I can never find a main to play as in any fighting game. I might like someone for some of their moves, but then pushed away by my ability to execute them correctly, or finding them fun to play, but once brought online the "tier" listings beat them down. (ex. flip-floping between Cammy, Sakura, and El Fuerte in SF4, Bridget and Slayer in GGXX, and Nrvnqsr and Aoko Aozaki in Melty Blood)

Hell, balancing in ALL games. Problem is, games are made by humans. Humans are flawed. Thus, so are the games and the balancing. I haven't played SFIV online (even though, like you, I own it for PC), but of course I've read about all the crap surrounding Ken, the abuse of hadouken-style attacks and all that. When they're THAT blatant, they should release balancing patches. But I guess CAPCOM is too lazy to do that. Meh.

Can't say I relate. SFIV: C.Viper. GGXX: Started with Axl Low, but a friend of mine kept owning my ass with Ky, which forced me to end up with EX-mode Sol Badguy. Our Sol vs Ky matches were the stuff of legends, easily best fun I've had with fighters ever. Melty Blood: Red haired Akiha Tohno, although I started with normal Shiki.

Damn, now I feel like playing Melty Blood again. That game kicks ass.

Overly cheap characters and bosses.

I've experienced this is several Mortal Kombat games. The biggest culprit characters are Onaga from Deception and Blaze from Armageddon. Big giants who take up half the arena and screen size and also use the same three attacks over and over and over again.

The online on the PC version at least seems to be heavily one sided..you are either a combo busting, FADCing Pro or get your ass handed to you via SRK noob....I apparently fall into the 2nd catergory. And I guess that people can make mistakes with balancing but still....six characters that are pretty much the exact same...i mean im all for a clone character or 2...but jeez...

and gah...now I want to get GGXX and Melty Blood again too...though I feel embarassed to try and play it again (Melty Blood)...

Try Kintaro from MK2, I spent at least 4 hours trying to beat that guy with Baraka. Then you have to fight Shao Kahn. So... much... jumping and kicking...

Embarrassed to play Melty Blood? o_O? Why, if I may ask?

I'm skilled in fightihing games like all 2D CAPCOM (the game comes from captain comando did you know that?) games and king of fighters. But in there are those games in wich there is no strategy, the one that picks the characthers that hits quicker wins.

In SC2 i spent a lot of time playing and trying to get good with that guy who uses a bo staff. I beat the campaign mode and could beat the hardest AI settings.... Only to get my ass kicked by a friend just picking up the controller and mashing buttons.

At which point i just put it down and walked away.

I don't particular like fighting games for these reasons. The only one i really enjoyed was Dissidia.

Probably the same reason why I can't seem to get myself back into Tsukihime, I know the "origins" of it and all that.. (ie. "Hey, what's this game you're playing?"..."Melty Blood"..."What's it about?".."Umm..It's a Guilty Gear style fighter based off of a H-game"..."Oh...porn..I see"..."T_T" ) That and I can't seem to stop imagining some of the scenes from it now...before I couldn't imagine any of the characters getting naked at all..now...ya.. =/...I dunno, it's weird

And that's why I haven't checked the H-game. I saw the anime normal serie (which I find to be awesome), then this friend of mine found out about Melty Blood. Aaaand that's it. I'd rather stay the hell away from the original, pr0n game (Although getting it on with RED Arcueid has to be a blast! If you survive the experience, that is).

My major frustration is when you get beaten by someone who was just button mashing the entire match.

I also would like to state that I don't like "Mains", as I enjoy playing around with the entire roster. It also makes you much more unpredictable in tournaments.

Example time: I'm going to be in a Brawl tournament in a few weeks at my school, and I'll be picking Random each time. I did this last year and got second.

Ya..when I first got SF4...gah...Seth, punch punch special kick piledriver special kick piledriver....what x-x

Same with I-no from GGXX. Her final arcade boss incarnation is just plain unbeatable for me, even if i do know the trick to dodge Megalomania.

The h-game isn't that bad (if you get the english patch for it, you can download it without the h-scenes). The story and actual writing is pretty dang captivating and well done, but the h-scenes are pretty much near pointless, and like Neutral Drow said in his review of it, the writing is horrid compared to the rest....I just added it in cause I wanted the full experience....T_T

But I-no isn't cheap, she's good, but not cheap. Seth is cheap, cause he can pull those overpowered moves, same with most fighting game bosses. I-no only has Megalomania, and that's very easily avoidable.

Still, I think I'll pass, I haven't much interest in H-Games. And who the hell is Neutral Drow?

Mainly the cheap bosses. (DOA's Alpha, SF4's Seth)

God those bosses are unforgiving. And Alpha just plainly cheats.

That and moves/combos that are impossible(for me)to pull off. (Never did Hyabusa's Izuna drop)

Seth.
I fucking hate Seth.
When you can't beat a character on anything higher than normal mode, even after trying everything physically possible, then something is fucked up real bad.

Ok..I guess I-no wasn't cheap, but she was still a pain in the ass x-x ...and also Neutral Drow is the Escapist's main visual novel reviewer, his review's are well done, and helped me get into Melty Blood in the first place...Tsukihime review if you are still interested...

Gah...must get better at Street Fighter....-just came back from an online beating-

I have a problem with the damned bullshit magician end bosses of many fighting games, Seth being an example. I fucking hate that son of a *****.

Ya, Seth is pretty bad, but once you figure out his pattern...it's not nearly as bad...Rugal from King of Fighters on the other hand...dear god, SNK are just plain sadistic with their end game bosses.

At least you can juggle those. Try the Tekken 6 bosses. Nancy M1847J and Azazel are annoying beyond belief!

To be honest...I don't really have any general frustrations. I mean, I guess if I had to complain about anything, it'd be Marvel vs. Capcom 2 having a cast of 56 characters and a viable cast of 6, but that seems like nitpicking.

Summary: the game is farking awesome, and the translation patch lets you disable the sex, which ultimately isn't all that important.

Sorry. Yeah...hope you're not offended too much. I understand and accept that you lost interest after two routes. I will still fight tooth and nail to get other people to try it.
