Erm...*ahem*. Yay! I was worrying I might have sounded kind of harsh.

Yeah, unlike Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night doesn't have a non-ero patch (yet...there is an uncensoring patch, though >_>). On the other hand, its sex scenes are fewer, much farther apart, and a helluva lot better less-awkwardly written.

Also, there probably wouldn't be a Melty Blood->Tsukihime awkwardness, unless you wanted to get into Fate/Unlimited Codes at some point.

EDIT: Oh right, and...

2)Never being able to find a main This one might just be me as well but for reason I can never find a main to play as in any fighting game. I might like someone for some of their moves, but then pushed away by my ability to execute them correctly, or finding them fun to play, but once brought online the "tier" listings beat them down. (ex. flip-floping between Cammy, Sakura, and El Fuerte in SF4, Bridget and Slayer in GGXX, and Nrvnqsr and Aoko Aozaki in Melty Blood)
I have to admit, I don't think I've ever considered this a problem; I do wind up with "mains" after a fashion (Raphael in Soul Calibur, Axl in Guilty Gear, Kohaku in Melty Blood, Fiona in Arcana Heart, etc.), but I also make it a point to try to play everyone at least decently, if not well.

In other words, I try to main Random!

Complaint for me, Switching from PS3 to 360 with Super Street Fighter 4.
I can not for the life of me get used to that stick after having a decent D-Pad. Decent, because I feel like the PS3 D-pad is more sensitive than the PS2, and often reads things like the right button as Up Right because I pushed my thumb up slightly.

The simple reason i've never really gotten into fighting games is that they have a very high barrier to entry. Sure I can pick up a controller and mash buttons. Given a few hours I can even formulate basic strategies. But to actually master the skills it takes to actually "play the game" could take days where I'm either beating up on training bots or getting my ass handed to me online. This is the very same reason I tend to avoid playing RTS games online - it turns out the novice and the experienced player are playing very different games.

In fact, there have only been two RTS games I've ever managed to sit through the "getting kicked in the face" period - Dawn of War II and Ground Control. When it comes to fighting games, the closest I ever came was the Smash Brother's series. Some may complain about Smash Brothers for any number of acceptable reasons, but in my mind by making the systems and mechanics relatively simple, they ensure a much quicker transition to "high level" play. To be clear, when I say high level I simply mean that mastery of the interface is no longer a fundamtal key of success and the game instead becomes one of timing and misdirection.

I admittedly suck at fighting games, but I love them. So I'll usually just play through the "story mode" and play with friends a few times. So, I'd say price is my primary complaint, not worth $60 if I'm only going to play that much. Also, since I'm not that dedicated to memorize huge combos, I don't care for fighters that are entirely centered on them. I like flashy special moves and interesting characters instead. I completely admit that I'm a minority among the players of fighters as I'm actually more interested in the stories of each character then learning in depth strategies and usually get most of my playtime just getting to everyone's endings.

Played the UFC 2010 demo yesterday and dammit it was annoying when rampage just kept hugging me. It takes 5 min for some reason to get away from him just so that he can do it again. After two rounds of hugging he gives me fist in the face once and I'm down. What a fun match! It was on experienced I think.

Chalk another one up for bullshit bosses, so annoying going up against them sometimes although I have found a few to be tolerable; Chaos (Dissidia) and Hazama (Blazblue CS) to name two that hit that "just right" balance.

Hell bullshit AI in general pisses me off with their stupid turnarounds sometimes. Perfect turteling, instant counters, and then completely destroying you just as you are about to beat them. It can be good practice, but it can also be torture. Some major culprits of bullshit AI I've witnessed are I-No, Sol, Unlimited Ragna, Nu, and some of the lvl 150's in Dissidia.

I-No's computer AI is a stinking whore. I can beat her, but the ***** has to make it an utter chore to do so sometimes.

Sol and Ky are also big douchebags I don't trust with the computer. Sol always ends up blitzing your ass and fucking locking you in a corner or some bullshit. Ky begins to turtle like there is no tomorrow before counter attacking to all hell on you. I can beat em, but they have their moments.

Unlimited Nu and Ragna....FUCK YOU!! ESPECIALLY Ragna. That **** is near broken in his unlimited form. More defense, more damage, permanent blood kain mode, constantly rising heat gauge, distortion drives ALWAYS take priority over yours. FUCK YOU!! BURN IN THE DEEPEST PITS OF VIDEO GAME HELL! Fighting him is the biggest pain I've had to endure in a fighting game in a long while, that **** just pulls out all the stops on you.

Lvl 150 characters in Dissidia's duel Colosseum, pretty much what I've just ranted about and add "WTF one hit and I'm in break mode!? FUCK!!!"

As for finding a main, well that's never been a big problem. I tend to try a bit of everyone when I start a new game and see who I get most comfortable with. I try to main at least 3 characters, 1 MAIN, a secondary, and a tertiary character. I don't like being confined to one single character. Hell Half the cast in Dissidia I can flawlessly use...but then again I've sunk 500+ hours into that monster.

Strange...once I actually got used to her style, she struck me as more fair than I'd given credit. The one thing she does that really throws me off is her ability to do her overdrives (especially that damned aerial super) on reaction, but otherwise she seems more like a understandably difficult AI with a scary-looking but easily avoided (unless you're Potemkin) ultimate attack. She's nothing compared to what Justice and Dizzy were like...unless we're talking Accent Core, in which I haven't played her yet. I remember getting annoyed by Order Sol since Instant Kills were inexplicably disabled during that fight...

And that's not to say that smart-but-fair AIs can't be a pain. After all, bosses in Fate/Unlimited Codes (Gilgamesh and Kotomine in particular, I've found) basically rely on the tactics of really good players. They use mixups, melee spacing (and projectile spacing in Gilgamesh's case, goddamn Gate of Babylon), and very long and intricate combos to beat you.

1. Charge Characters

I fucking hate charge characters. 50% of SF4's roster is god damn charge characters. They are annoying as hell to learn, and a messed up input leaves your VERY vulnerable.

2. 360/720 inputs

Not everyone is hardcore enough to invest in a fight stick, which is the only way to really make Zangief, Hakan, and other grappler's viable. Also, Tager from Blazblue falls into this.

3. Shoryuken and all it's variants.

I just really hate this attack and find it cheap. I started using Sakura just to have access to this kinda move.

I am attempting to main the following characters in SSF4.

1. Juri
2. Sakura
3. Rose
4. Rufus

Gah...must get better at Street Fighter....-just came back from an online beating-
Say, how's the latency? my line sucks big time (freaking stupid arsehole ISP still using Interleaving instead of Fastpath) so I've never dared to give it a go online, cause I fear I'll get blamed all the way to ban-land because of constant lag issues.

1) I know what you mean. For quite a while, I was very slow with Vega, constantly having to sit back and charge moves. I was convinced that Vega was too slow. And then I got good with him. Now, the only time I'm standing still is when I'm Focusing. Charge characters are a ***** to learn, but by God are they rewarding to learn.

2) Funny how it doesn't stop the computer from spamming those very moves. Damned Abel. Anyway, if you have the Mad Catz FightPad, it's entirely possible to consistantly perform those, though a pain to learn.

3) It'd be more acceptable if the recoil from a fireball was greater. It's frustrating as hell when you've got a hadouken spammer who performs one of those damned shoryuken every time you jump over the fireballs, y'know, being that's the only way for most characters to avoid them.

I have a problem with the damned bullshit magician end bosses of many fighting games, Seth being an example. I fucking hate that son of a *****.
Ya, Seth is pretty bad, but once you figure out his pattern...it's not nearly as bad...Rugal from King of Fighters on the other hand...dear god, SNK are just plain sadistic with their end game bosses.
So I've heard, though I still consider Seth to be fucking atrocious. The bastard can teleport right behind you and instantly perform a high priority grab.

At least you can juggle those. Try the Tekken 6 bosses. Nancy M1847J and Azazel are annoying beyond belief!
Well, technically you can juggle Azazel, but it's a ***** to do. As for NANCY, I'd complain about it being obscenely difficult and impossible to beat, but since it's not required that you beat it to proceed, I just ignore it.

Another part of my problem with SF4's online, the lack of actually still recording the data if the other person disconnects (either on purpose or not). I've had this happen many times...After about a few losses, I'll finally get a win but no, the other person has to be all "Durrr..since I'm such a pro, I'm can't let some random noob beat me, so I going to leave so I don't get a negative mark on my win/lose ratio...hur durr"....that's just plain infuriating

Tekken 6 I was so really really pissed off with this game the versus/arcade is fine it's tekken same mechanics, same characters, better graphics no complaints. But the fucking loading times are surreal I clocked 50 seconds between me and my mates selecting our characters and the match finaly starting, thats longer than the first round itself took wasted on freaking load times.

Scenario sucks I did not want a beat em' up why did you try selling me one namco, and its not even a good one controls are akward and its almost a requirement that you spam the same combos to survive the endless barrage of enemies. Writing and storyline suck (always did really but not to this ham fisted a level) why the ingame rendered cutscenes who was asking for that? Why did you try and shoehorn a plot into tekken and take it seriously? What was wrong with select your dude, two dudes meet in combat some contrived dialogue ala tekken 5 then they proceed to kick the shit out of each other for 8 rounds, boss then a movie.

Stats on items, you want to buy alternate costumes for versus? Want the cool shiny items? Tough shit you get to look like a clown now take off that hat and put on this gimp mask because it has +400 health you need those stats to have any chance in scenario and scenario is the only way to acess some items or make any real money its bloody infuriating and with random stats drops you always, always look like a fucking goon.

If you want a balanced game, play ryu vs ryu or find an fps. When the characters are different its not balanced, never gonna be.

Finding a main I cant really help you with. I usually bump between favs too, I just have characters I DONT like and avoid those. The rest are my main.

As for similar moves...well if you're not gonna have rockets or sharks with freaking lasers on their heads a human body has a relatively finite amount of moves. And when making a game you also make a system (i.e. low punch, high punch etc) if a character is "outside" that system he's gonna be too imbalanced, thus making all characters relatively similar with just different commands, timing on animations and story. But I agree...too much similarity just spells lazy on the developers part even though I dont think SF4 suffers terribly from this.
