Fearzone said:Aren't they on the hotseat to find an investor to save them from bankruptcy right how? Hmmmm, I wonder if they might be motivated to fudge things a wee bit.
Anyway, "registered players" does not equal monthly fees. These guys are living in fantasy land.
Cryptic once counted beta testers and I think Champions Online players in its Star Trek Online numbers.
Great post, thank you. Also mmorpg.com did an article about how they missed an opportunity to have a detective feature, and that just sounds awesome i love mysteries lol.Little Duck said:I would play APB if it had the following:
The ability to specialist sandbox heists (so people can plan a heist in a bank at any time and success will bring much glory and money for either them or the police victor. Special start points (at the start of the bank) and end points will be allocated. Also you can split earnings with other gangs.)
The ability to do police raids (so raiding a criminal area to "confiscate" weaponary thus raise cash)
Specific areas the police can be attacked (destroying unsecure lockups and safe houses in the game world)
Street races
The ability for police to do "mob boss attack" (similar to heists, but you go to a location and shoot your way through. Gangs can choose to accept a reward for helping sotp the attck, which increases as time goes by. As soon as you join it's locked and you get the reward if you can stop police)
These are what I thought I could do in the game, but it seems as though you can't.
That does sound good. All this and what not should be sent to APB and we should say, do this and we'll buy that.Fr33Kye said:Great post, thank you. Unfortunately I can corrborate this. At peak gaming hours (Friday/Saturday evenings) the server I play on is lucky to see more than 600 people on, 1/3 of them usually being in the Social District (which is free). I do know that the game is seeing more popularity (and support, and advertising) in Europe, but still- if the total playing population is rising over TEN thousand on the best of days, I'd be surprised.Antari said:tens of thousands?! .. HAHAHAHA!!! .. Prime time during the week the instance listing MIGHT cover over 500 people. Thats not tens of thousands. These statistics are blatently fabricated! They may refer to the inital opening month. But they don't have anything to do with how the game performed after that.
All newspapers do this kinda of stupid news. An american newspaper called the "daily news," released an article about how a recent poll finds that 20% of americans believe the president is muslim. The reporter then wasted the time of the white house to find out the president's opinion on this useless poll.Carlston said:Yawn.
Guy I know there is little to no news in the gaming world.
But can we can the "Xbox is dying, Ps3 is dying, this games is a failure, this mmo is dying"
When they are not real stories backed by fact that show a pattern or said failure/change? Seriously...
Why do PS3 sales lag behind 360's? Simple ps3's don't red ring every 6 months needed a new one bought maybe?
