Is it strange that I've instantly recognized James, thanks to the police uniform? Lacks porn moustache though.

My actual out-loud reaction to the MLP avatars of the LRR crew:

"Oh. Dear. God."

Alright, LRR. You've attempted animated episodes before, but now you kind of have to at least try. We need an animated all pony LRR episode.

Fun vid! I love loading time.

That's incredibly nice of you guys, if I'm reading this correctly the official LRR stance seems to be "not part of the group, but tolerant of it".

I respect that message, and that you made it a point to let us know of it.

I appreciate all the whiteboard suggestions, but we have actually tried most of them :[

Also, as you see, we don't have enough people around to hold bounces.

I'm a pub club member...why am I seeing ads on this? Is it reposted from another site?
This is a video that we're making, separate from The Escapist, but that The E has agreed to get some more eyes on by pairing it with our column.
We're not being paid anything to make these videos, so that's why we host them ourselves.

@Paul_LRR: I, too, chose the cranberry DB5 shirt. I think it is the nicest color that was offered.

In defense of people who don't like the Bronies: The generalization that people have towards them, the one where they assume all Bronies are loud mouthed fans who bring up the subject everywhere and at every time, is obviously because only the some of the fan base is like that so a shared negative opinion is formed at the whole group. It's not fair to say all of the fans of the show are like that, so Brony Haters shouldn't be so hateful, but then again it's also not fair to say they have no base in their anger. I have seen the entire first season of the show and it wasn't for me. I don't like it, but I don't hate people that like it. But that being said I wish the over zealous fans would keep the love for it more laid back, for the sake of people who don't really want to know and for the sake of their fellow fan's reputations.

It was nice to see LRR get more comments than Jimquisition for once. Keep it up.

Glad to see another one. It's interesting to see all the work you put into it. You can really see it in the videos, the production quality is far beyond every other internet show I've seen.

I definitely support this. I doubt they'd have time for that, but maybe they could outsource it? Maybe if they have time write a script and do the voice over, it could be some kind of LRR spin-off, I'd sure love that. If nothing else, give permission for others to do it?

If you would forgive a suggestion of something that I did in a similar, but not identical situation with a white wall in the background. I threw a white sheet across the room with the shot light behind it. Essentially making it extra soft. You loose about a stop of light or more though. Again, This worked with a white wall. A white board is much more reflective though.

Of course if you already thought of this please ignore.
I was thinking maybe some kind of gel that you could rub over the board that didn't reflect light so well? That'd cut the glare and look natural when the heavy lighting was applied to it.

I don't know what gel you'd use, but I'm sure something suits.

I don't think everyone who 'hates bronies' really does hate all of them. Personally, I consider a 'brony' to be the more obnoxious members of the group who do try to force it into pretty much everything. Everyone who simply enjoys the show, even if they have a strong affection for it without acting as the way mentioned above, are simply people who enjoy the show My Little Pony. The latter includes myself to a degree. That may be because I think Brony is one of the worst names for a fanbase ever though.

The point about there being much worse fanbases is absolutely true. I know that through experience, and know the feeling of having a lot of people hate a group I technically belong to because the loudest/most well known are normally the worst. It does hurt the reputation as a whole. Which is made even worse then, no matter what's really going on, most who really belong to the group are people who quietly enjoy it with themselves and others with similar interests.

But I think the reason there's so many people who don't like and are sick of it is because of just how widespread it is. During a period of time a good portion of the internet became obsessed with the show. It spread like a meme, to the point where people were bringing it into a lot of things where it didn't neccessarily belong in the annoying/loving fan way. That has died down now of course. But the number of people who were just exploding about it is something that will follow it for it's entire life, both negitvely and positively.

The same thing happened with Skyrim for me, with the difference being Skyrim isn't something many people would be ashamed to watch/play (not that I'm saying anyone should for watching MlP, just that some will). When Skyrim was released, it was something people were bringing up all the time. Memes formed and were thrown into pretty much everything. And it ended up killing the experience for me.

*poke*

Care to hire me?

XD

Anyway, holding a boom steady with uncertain footing is very annoying. I don't know how stable Kathleen's toilet lid was but I once had to stand on a rickety stool for at least twenty minutes of filming for a University project. That kind of stuff makes my back hurt thinking about it.

Lighting is a pain in the ass too, especially when you're on a tight schedule to keep everyone involved around to finish. I remember for my final project at Cap I had to put a pillow in a window during an interview because there just wasn't enough time to find a better room and there were only two of us there. Thankfully it wasn't that obvious.

a great behind the scenes look :D

as for the whiteboard, when I first saw the white spots I wasn't paying attention initially and actually thought it was the light reflecting from windows on the other side of the room. I was like "why don't they just close the shades on those-oh wait"

It is sad to see the LRR crew aren't fans of the show, but I completely agree with Kathleen and Kapol. I'm not a huge fan of the term 'brony', but I live with it because the fandom has so many horrible puns that it sort of comes with the package, and I'm better then to let something I enjoy be ruined because others that enjoy it are obnoxious and pushy about it.

Case in point, I was given a 'brony' shirt for Christmas that says "BRONY" on it, but I still wear it because I won't let something as menial as the bad rep of brony deter me from enjoying an actually pony shirt. It fits nicely as well. :)

People know I enjoy the show and I haven't asked any of them to watch it. If they are curious, they will, easy as that.

I don't think it's like that at all. In any group, the people who aren't being obnoxious loudmouths don't get any credit because they more or less go unnoticed. People tend not to notice when people are going around not saying and doing things, and even on the off chance they do, they don't consider it worth dwelling on. (It's the same reason you never hear people tweet about how nobody broke into their house and tried to murder them today.)

This gets amplified way more on the Internet, where if somebody doesn't say anything in a message board thread or comment section, they're literally invisible, so for all intents and purposes, quiet people don't exist.
