I haven't played it. Is it any good? I might add it to my wish list.
this is a definite must buy for the psp, i also was hooked non stop into this game for a while...i play occasionally now, but mannn that game is frickin RIDICULOUS for the psp, with how many unlockables and level ups and hte soundtracks and stages are ridiculous, i would honestly say the stages are built around certain types of characters ( agree or disagree, i just think some stages are built for long range while some are great for combo offensive people) so yes. this is a must buy

if this game was on a actual console i really think it could rival or beat super smash bros. for gameplay, this game is just too much fun

Yea, I know exactly what you mean I've gotten good enough with him to for the most part beat any of the computer's relatively easy just not so excellent with the timing quite yet, I'm more of a fan for the fast types myself so thinking of perhaps mastering Tidus next any suggestions on him? I haven't touched him outside of a few free battle and his story mode to be honest.
Tidus is pretty damn good as a counter fighter. he's pretty heavy on the parry attacks as most of his brave HP combos have dodge abilities built into them. The trick is to more or less fool your opponent and acting accordingly to their attacks. A well timed attack will have you dodging yur opponents initial attack and then hitting them hard in their lul of recovery. he's a parry fighter so it's all about deeking them and then slapping them in their faces when they least expect it.

I think my fight with cloud here is a good example of how a good Tidus is supposed to function.

Nice, so much like A Onion Knight strategy of dodge and punish?

I am proficient with anyone in that game (no life and spent way too much time on it) though I am best with onion knight with 0 losses and max winnings and beyond I think I am pretty good with him...

Hmm, never thought of it like that but yes, except in this case the dodges are integrated right into the attack command.

Now if you really wanna see how brutal EX-Death can be, and my urge to hammer home the fact that he is the definition of "Tank", here are some quick replays I have had in the past few days. Perhaps they will help your game with them. Unfortunately I think I deleted the vids i had of him up against brawlers, but him against magic users gets the point across pretty damn well.

Enjoy the slaughterfest :p

Tidus. I started off playing Cecil (since IV's my favourite) but Tidus fits me a hell of a lot better.

Anyone with fingers can play as onion knight. I use firion because he actually requires skill to play as.

I never played the game... But my guess is probably Zidane, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Jecht. Oh well, I'll just keep dreaming.

Gabranth, dear god Gabranth.
This guy is just a powerhouse of madness and destruction, I love playing Gabranth, permanent Ex-Mode gear makes him unstoppable.

I love playing my friends, a friend of mine always picks either Squall, Cloud or Sephiroth, every time I've played him, I've managed to destroy him within the space of a minute as Gabranth, he can't even beat my SSS AI Gabranth ghost data.

hah nice, yea Gabranth is the kind of character that makes their opponent shit their pants the second the Helmet comes on. If it wasn't for his rather easy to avoid HP attacks (even innocence can marginally easy), you could consider him over powered. Those EX boosting properties just make him a scary opponent to fight. Ah, good times kicking lvl 150 Chaos' ass with the EXecutioner .

Your friends seem easy to beat if they are using those characters seeing as how easy they are to read. Although Sephiroth is pretty brutal with some of the combos you can chain together with him.

Anyone I play against seems to have this problem with rushing me like a mad man, so I either wait until they dedicate themselves to a combo and use Hatred, or I spam Enrage every time they get close, I really would like a challenge on Dissidia...

And yeah, my friends do kinda suck, I lead on my friend who plays Squall like a matador leads on a bull, Squall's Revolver Drive is so easy to dodge, along with his Rough Divide, don't even get me started on Blasting Zone and Aerial Circle.

The only thing that pisses me off is when he spams Beat Fang, but even then, I'm never usually in Ex Mode when he uses it, so I just activate it the second he tries, staggering him and then leaving him open to some major pain.

hmmm, i have the same problem, not having any challenge on dissidia. I went to my local anime convention and a huge disidia tourney was taking place. i used sephy, and out of 20+ people, i got in 2nd place. made me cry it was sooooo easy. People just dont know how to play action games anymore. the guy that got in first was using kefka surprisingly enough, and boy did he rape my ass. i've never deen anything so.....wrong...

See, I'd love to participate in a Dissidia tourney with a load of people nearby, but I have the feeling that it still wouldn't be a challenge.
I just switched on my PSP to play Dissidia, after just over a month of not playing it at all, I fought a level 100 Kefka, AI set to Maximum and I used Gabranth with a build that focused massively on keeping him in Ex Mode, hell one of my equippables even started him off with 30% of the Ex Gauge filled up.

I kicked Kefka's clown-boy ass up and down the arena, over and over, 5 times in a freakin' row, the last two fights I wasn't even trying, Gabranth is the king of overpowered characters in that game, learn to use him right, with the right summons, accessories and equipment, you will never, ever lose a battle again.

XD i took your advice and only put ex boosting items on him. i've also mastered him so he has exp-ex too. holy shit he is scary. i can stay in ex for an entire fight. i beat the living crap outta chaos! still though i prefer my sephy, i gave him smiting soul(chance to insta break the opponent) and since just one attack has 5-10 hits in it, i insta break the enemy every other combo.

Bet ya wish you used that badass in that tourney, eh?
