I have both and am getting it on PS3, for a couple of reasons. No disc swapping and it just feels right playing a FF game with a Playstation controller (silly I know, but it would feel weird playing, say, ME on PS3)
This comment made me smile a little.
Playing on a playstation controller is as much part of the FF series as the disk swapping of FF7,8 and 9.
True! Although I don't actually mind disc swapping tbh, but if I don't have to, why would I? :)
This is one of the reasons why I pre-ordered it for the PS3. I didn't mind the disc swapping of the old days, since you only swapped it once, but if I don't have to swap, I'd rather not.

Also, I know the life of my Xbox is limited. This game will likely take many hours to complete. I don't want to kill my Xbox in the process. It already has to deal with my constant ME2 playing. It deserves a little rest.

You should... because....
....well....

To give your Xbox something new to look at?

Nah, disk swapping is less of a inconvenience to me then scratching my ear. But indeed, if you have the choice I'd go for the single disk.

I was gonna say this, DIsk swapping is a part of Final Fantasy, namely 7,8 and 9. So that argument is invalid for me.

But but but my Xbox thinks only BioWare exist......................... ;-)
And it accepts that the disc swap in ME2 is necessary :p

It wasn't an argument, I did say later if I don't ''have to disc swap why would I?'' If I had to it wouldn't bother me, it is just I have a choice and my choice was based on those two reasons rather than any fan(woman)ism to any console/developer, iyswim? :)

PS3, i want the full experience, and i can't say i like disc swapping

I do own a 360 btw

There is no difference between PS3 and 360 version, except PS3 you won't have to switch discs. They dumbed down the PS3 version so it would match 360 version.
that's a lie the PS3 version has better graphics and sound, each versions push each console to their limits

Yes, a little treat for being so reliable. Such a good little PS3. *pets her PS3* Of course, I say this now, and watch, the blasted thing will catch fire right before I get GOW3 and FFXIII. Aaah! Okay, now I am moving my fire extinguisher closer to my AV rack.

Oh, sorry, i know it wasn't an argument, I dont know why I said "this argument is invalid" ah well.

Besides, Mass Effect 2 and The Last Remnant used 2 disks, and Lost odyssey used 4 disks... does that mean... wait for it, (drum roll)
Lost Odyssey > Final Fantasy XII? ;P

I Own Both An Xbox360 and a Ps3 and i Can't decide what I should get FFXIII For.

What are the diffrences?

If the're mostly equal then I'll get the 360 verison so i Don't have to fight with my brother over using ps3 though.

Anyway Thanks!
Pretty much equal. The only difference is that the PS3 version has better graphics because they're making much more use of the better processing power of the PS3, and the Xbox 360 version is on multiple discs. For the record, I'm a former Xbox owner (it got stolen) and will replace it anyway, and I want to get a PS3 too. Either way, I'll still be getting the Xbox version when I finally manage to get a new Xbox...

Lol, I know (I mentioned ME2 later as well) ;-) I also have Last Remnant and Lost Odyssey as I say it is doesn't really bother me, it's just if I don't have to......
But my PS3 really does need FFXIII, my 360 gets way more toys than my PS3 :)

Shhhh, you never which gods are listening............... :-O I should play my PS3 really, but have been so busy with DA (which I bought on 360) and ME2. My PS3 is very excited at getting a game to play!

Same here, if I get a game, I always get it on the Xbox, heck, the only game I have for the PS3 is Heavy Rain. Damn achievements. :p

I personally only have the 360, but I'd actually say PS3. Final Fantasy prides itself on, amongst other things, beautiful graphics, and so it seems logical that you'd take the version that offers these graphics.

That said, I can't wait to experience the game, and will be getting it release date on my 360. Now, the true question is whether to go with special edition or standard...

I'm going with the 360. Partially to piss off all the blind PS3 fanboys and partially because I really hate the PS3 controllers so much now in comparison that every PS3 exclusive I get has felt like it has wishy-washy controls (except for Demon's Souls).

I am reserving judgement on the whole graphics issue. Despite the superior power of the PS3, I have yet to see a single developer actually use it to make a game look better than anything on the 360. In fact, some games were downright ugly (again, except for Demon's Souls).

And, yes, I own both machine and yes, I like my PS3. I just like my 360 controllers about 1000% better.

ok. there are differences, all are graphical (and audio too i guess, not that anyone but a supha audiophile will ever notice)

PS3 runs at 720P with MSAA X 2

360 runs at 576P with MSAA X 2 so its not actually HD.
http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/02/18/final-fantasy-xiii-xbox-360-version-is-not-hd-576p-confirmed/

apparently textures are lower quality as well, and the pre rendered CG shows signs of heavy compression.
http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2526/ffxiii-significantly-poorer-on-xbox

also mentioned from what i have read is that PS3 does not have install but apparently loads slightly faster than 360 when 360 has the game installed (18 gigs approx. total, though you only need to install 1 disk at a time)
http://ve3tro.com/7612/final-fantasy-13-install-18gb/

im not sure if 360 has japanese audio, though it could well have it. i cant find anything that confirms it one way or the other. but this link does not boad well
http://www.finalfantasyunion.com/news/no-japanese-voice-option-in-final-fantasy-xiii-for-xbox-360--386.html
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/12/xbox-360-version-of-ffxiii-may-be-monolingual/

finaly, here is a comparison of the 2 next to each other.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=19857881&postcount=12055

so YES there are differences, i know which version im getting. but overall i doubt that anyone would notice unless they were side by side. still, im disappointed with square-enix. one would expect them to do a decent port of their flagship game.
