First time I played through the game, t'was before Dogmeat got buffed, I'd literally had him 5 minutes when he was swarmed and ripped apart by about 4 Giant Radscorps.

But since I downloaded the addons and what not, he is literally invincible, I've accidentally sneak critical hit him in the head and he has barely lost two bars of HP with my newer character, and she pretty much one shots most enemies. I haven't bothered with the Puppies! perk as he can not be touched.

As for the Firelancer? I havent seen it once, and I've got a level 30 Very Evil with 96 hours gametime and a level 25 Very Good with 50 hours who also hasn't seen it.

One a side note, using Dogmeat on a stealthy character is pointless, I found he always attracted enemies to my position with his growling and barking. He is good for melee characters as a tank though, once he's attacked a foe, they won't concentrate on anything else apart from Dogmeat.

[Growl] anyone?

I wonder what the outcasts would give you for that or if they would just see it as another alien blaster.
I've tried selling it.

They won't accept it or even recognize it as a regular alien blaster.

How do you get a dog? I suppose it is a perk...
Dogmeat.

Scrapyard.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Dogmeat_(Fallout_3)
Wow. I don't know if I would have him...i mean, 500 health means nothing to me in terms of how much enemies have, but how easily does he die? And at what level do you get the option for the puppies! perk? I may get him when I gain this perk. I don't know.

I have refused many followers. I think I like the idea of being the "lone wanderer". But for a dog...maybe.
500 health is probably WAY more than yours if you're only level 8. Dogmeat is unbelievably resilient, in one fight he got set on fire, riddled with bullets and had a missile launched at him, and he was still (just about) standing. Also if you're the kind of player that saves alot, it's not much to just re-load the last save if he dies.
Wow. I guess I'm off to the scrapyard in a minute then. I have like 260 health so you are right there. I also like to save every like 20 mins cause so much can happen in a single minute. I should be fine with a doggy. Is there any way to change his name, out of interest?

Radscorpions are my least fav enemy. Then again, I have never faced a Yao Guai or a Deathclaw...

I have just found out about a weapon called the firelance. An alien blaster with much more power and a 99% critical hit rate. Awesome.

However ,to get it you need to see a UFO explode in the air in a "random encounter".
I can guess what a random encounter is, but what, or where, triggers them?

I really want this firelance.
But I don't understand. There is no other help online other than a youtube video showing it and the encounter.

Does anyone have the firelance? Does anyone know how to get it?

Also, while I'm at the Fallout mysteries...who has found a location called
Bethesda Ruins
? What is it supposed to be? The ruins of the realistic location of the actual Bethesda Studios? Or just a building with the name as an easter egg?

And, there is a place somewhere I heard of that has written on a wall/sign or something
"TES IV"
. Nice! HAs anyone actually seen this?

(I don't want to look at an online map in case I see something I don't want to know about right now. I love exploring the wastes and finding new things)
The game takes place in Maryland, where Bethesda studios is located, hence why they inserted themselves. Also, keep an eye out for a door around the base of those radar dish towards, when opened, it has a special message for you from bethesda.
Where are the radar dishes? I wanna find this. I love easter eggs. I take screenshots of all the easter eggs I find on every game. An obsession I have.
They are REALLY giant, you can't miss em. Also, theres a second secret attached to them (Not so much an easter egg as just plain awesome)

Its a random encounter, therefore it is random.

There are about 100 pre-determined spots on the map where a random encounter can happen. Walking near one of these spots 'triggers' the encounter, by randomly selecting one from a list.

Therefore, there is no exact place where it can be found, so don't believe anything anyone tells you.
Um, I'm gonna go on a limb and say you know more about Fallout 3 than me, and hopefully you can answer this. When I went to Super Duper Mart for the first time I got shot with the Firelance and died. Next time I arrive the raider with the firelance is gone and even now with a level 30 character I can't seem to get that encounter again. Is it a one time thing?

P.S: Can you see Uncle Leo more than once?

Nope.

But I call him Dogsteak.

Yao Guais are pretty easy, it's just annoying as they can sneak up on you.

Since you died, the encounter location most likely 'reloaded'. What was there the second time?

Some people are just unfortunate and don't find it.

P.S:Yes, he can appear twice.

I found Uncle Leo outside Megaton. I was pretty surprised.

Every time I head right when coming out of the megaton doors, he is around that flat area up the hill. I wish there were more conversation options, or a quest. Isn't there a perk for killing him by shooting him in the chest?

One: What are likely locations? Super Duper Mart always seems to have a random event when you get there. Anyother places like that? Two: when I got there again there was a group of slavers with captured slaves.

Three: Thanks for the help.

If you have the PC version of Fallout 3, you can get a mod that makes Dogmeat considered essential. Meaning that if he's "killed", he is actually only knocked out, for a few moments. Never dies... MWAHAHAHAHA!

There's a list of them all.

Two: Good, that means the Firelance is waiting to happen.

I actually got a firelance the other day. VERY little ammo for it though.

Basically random events happen at certain areas of the game, e.g. The Anchoridge statue, but there's a fair few places around the map. Just got to keep a look out.

I'll give you a obvious hint. The name of the gun is tied to a particular quest. When you've found the quest, you'll know where to look for the gun.
Lol ok. Thanks, friend. I will look out for it.
Here's another hint if you want it... Lincoln Repeater is a historic artifact... where would one of those be?

Ok...lemme take a stab at it....I have only just arrived at Rivet City and I found a ancient artefacts display thing. The dude asked me to retrieve the declaration of independence in a archives place. Is the repeater there or in Rivet itself?

Neither, but your warm. It's definitely in the DC area.
