Yes they did, and they also had quite a few nasty health problems that came with it.omega 616 said:That is what I have always thought, like the first child isn't going to be born with 6 toes and 8 fingers.
Didn't royals and the higher classes way back when they inbred like crazy 'cos they didn't want commoner blood mixed in with there royal line ...?
I think it is a bit too close for comfort but I don't get why it is illegal, what right does the government have to say who you can and can't marry? Isn't that a personal thing?
Less insane and more... GOOD GOD, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?! I refer to Charles II (last Habsburg king of Spain)... same with Cleopatra VII's family, and you really have to wonder at what stroke of luck she turned out to be attractive... (her parents were siblings and grandparents were uncle and niece, AFAIK).Realitycrash said:And yes, Royals did inbreed a lot, and after centuries, many of them also went insane..
Comparatively, the British Royal family wasn't/isn't that inbred... only Victoria/Albert were first cousins... other than that, not all that bad... QE2/DoE are second cousins-once removed... *shrug* not that it matters much...Liquidacid23 said:most of the British royal family is inbred as fuck and they seem kinda mostly fine![]()
Partly that was because of the importance of politic marriages with your neighbours. Keep doing that, and you end up inbreeding.omega 616 said:Didn't royals and the higher classes way back when they inbred like crazy 'cos they didn't want commoner blood mixed in with there royal line ...?
Well, you could say the same about gay marriage, but that hasn't cuaght on in most places. Though, gay incestuou marriage would be less problematic than straight incestuous marriage, and some places that's legal and gay marriage isn't.omega 616 said:I think it is a bit too close for comfort but I don't get why it is illegal, what right does the government have to say who you can and can't marry?
