Hmmm, a quiet ramble in the countryside, like a common or woods. Woods for the never ending shade and rustle of wind through trees, or Common for a more sunlit experiance. I however recommend a walk in common land at about sunset, you cant beat a walk with the sun setting perfectly behind some trees or when the sunlight just catches the water surface.

I like to take a girl out for sushi at my fave local sushi house, then out to a good (music) show. Music is a big part of my life, and the girl I usually go for is into music as well.
Always wanted to date a gamer girl (not you know, make one out of a girl I'm seeing, cuz I'll do that), but I can never find one around here. At least none who admit it. Once dated a comic book nerd girl who had a thing for Nightcrawler, and that was pretty awesome. I don't know where I'm going with this.

#1 No Movies: First dates are about getting to know one another not much chance of talking at the movies so stay away from things that take your attention away from him or her.
#2 Going out to eat at restaurants is good but can take away from intimacy considering other will be close and it lacks personal touches picnic would be a better option even better if prepared by you.
#3 Walks in the park or beach are good depending on were you live better if there is an Arboretum or Botanical Garden near you.
#4 No matter what you do if you try any of this or not keep your attention on this other person keep banter light & try not to get to personal that can lead to uncomfortable moments unless you know this person already.

If there's a mutual interest you know of then work with that as long as it doesn't come off as too strong. For a first date you probably want something casual.

Just be yourself and do a simple date and see where things are going, possibly like a movie or a simple dinner. Nothing too extreme to go on too strong or to show you're desperate, but nothing too cheap to make it feel like a one night stand kind of thing or that you're a cheap person.

Don't go to a movie, that's so.. boring. That scenario requires very little interaction, so there is no way of forming a connection. Take something simple and then create something more out of it. I picked my now girlfriend up for our first date and took her to lunch. I got this Italian restaurant to give us our pasta to take away and went and sat in the sun by a lake to eat. We ended up hanging out there all afternoon taking and getting to know each other. Can't do that at a movie.RandyPants said:

A budget might help. I've never been one for the "Date" thing though. I'm told candy and flowers is basically the worst possible first step though if we are talking about the whole date.

Does the Human female like art and have a sense of humor? I once went out to eat with a girl and she kept looking at the kids one table over and their crayons and coloring stuff. I asked the waitress to bring us some before she stole the kids crayons. That was a fun night.
