Okay, this looks pretty sweet. Still waiting for the GOTY version.

But seriously, 1950's-style aliens! What more do people want?

They probably mean Elvis when they say "historical figures".

I wonder what he's going to fight with. A guitar?

Originally, weren't there supposed too be just three pieces of DLC? They really went all out with this one.

Gonna pass though, Fallout was fun, but I'm not that big of a fan.

I sure hope you can have Elvis fight with you.

Or maybe he the one leading the alien. Plot Twist!!!!

You know, I used to feel the same way. I didn't think a full-fledged alien DLC fit in with the Fallout world. But Bethesda has done a good job fleshing out the Fallout world in their own way, so I have confidence in them.

Also, when they say historical figures, for some reason I think they mean Abraham Lincoln.

Finally, a location that is kept clean!
This looks like it could be really good if done properly. Bethesda did well with the other DLCs so no doubt this one will be just as good. And fighting along side Elvis and Lincoln sounds like an epic idea. :)

UFO crash sites [http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/art/fallout3-screenshots1.html] in Fallout are an amusing and perhaps slightly creepy diversion, but taking it from a random Easter egg-style encounter to full-on DLC might be just a little overly self-indulgent.
I agree. Bethesda is treading a thin line with this DLC. They should be careful not to hijack the alternate-reality yet plausible Fallout setting into an increasingly sci-fi alien-invader theme. We have seen more than enough of the latter in the videogame world.

I expected something more... green and strange.
The places and weapons still look interesting, though

Am I the only one who thinks this looks incredibly stupid? As an easter egg it was chuckle worthy. But seriously integrating it into the canon? Fallout is very down to earth and grim. It's humor was dark or tounge-in-cheek. But this...Doesn't really seem to fit the world we've been shown at all. It's not a space opera, it's about a post-apoc world.

Simply put, I won't be buying this. And I think Beth made a mistake deciding to make this.

I've only had Fallot 3 for a week. It's glad to know that I'll hve something to do once I'm done with the wasteland.

I have to say, out of all the DLC so far, thi looks like the most interesting. Taking 1950s aliens and putting that dark humourous fallout spin on it is a perfect direction to take the series. Anyone who was a fan of Destroy All Humans will love this as well I imagine.

I just hope we also get more ammo for the alien blaster. That thing has been sitting in my inventry for days at a time because I'm afraid to use up the ammo.

Nope. Honestly I think Beth think this is stupid too, just like a 1950s style universe, a land full of backwards inbreding locals, a communist hating robot and any life after the nuclear bombs fall. For me, this fits with the Fallout universe. Take 1950s sci-fi and empty a bucket of shit on top.

I was hoping to see more fleshy aliens like the Grays from Dues Ex. They have more of that weird paranormal feel to them if aliens arn't robots, but theres still time. =]

I think they're in there... they're just wearing spacesuits like the one on the body in the crashed flying saucer. (Look closely at the screenie with the glass floor and the Giant Alien Blaster Cannon Thingy in it. Those little guys the Lone Wanderer is plinking away at are Little Grey Men in dome-helmeted suits.)

I'll probably get this DLC soon after release... but I still haven't played "The Pitt" or bought "Point Lookout" yet, and I'll be ramping up for Worldcon (and too busy) when it comes out.
