I still believe it was Super Mario Brothers on my gameboy color...but on a console it was sonic adventure.

"And yeah... people whose first games were on the N64 are making me feel SO OLD."

Then prepare to feel ancient; my first game was Asteroids on the Atari 2600.

What's the first game you remember playing? (on any platform)

The first that I remember was this wierd platforming game for PC called commander keen.

Any fond memories?
That was one of the first games I remember playing, but I think the very first was probably Archon on the Commodore64. I have many fond memories of both.

Super Mario World. First game I beat to. I remember being eight and my six-year-old brother and I beating TMNT IV. Also played, Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Castlevania IV, Final Fantasy IV, and Chrono Trigger.

Lord, the SNES was an awesome system.

Dungeon Keeper 1, and I have never finished it. Mainly due to some weird glitch where RTSs by Peter Molyneux stop working for me some where about the last level.

OK, after reading these replies, I feel REALLY old!

First game I ever played was space invaders at the arcade. First handheld I played was Donkey Kong on the Nintendo Game & Watch (LCD great-great-granddaddy of the Nintendo DS). First console game was Combat on the Atari 2600

Hang on, let me check the myriad of times I've answered this...

Tetris or Pokemon Red, I can't remember exactly which one, but I was pretty damn young and I loved them (and still do).
It's just "myriad". There's no "myriad of". Myriad just means "a lot of" -- a lot of of?

And now you know...

LOL...

First handheld: Blip

First console game: Yar's Revenge

I'm pretty sure that Pac-Man was my first arcade game, though it could just as easily have been Asteroids.

Gift From The Gods for the Spectrum ZX+3 on a 3.5" floppy disk. All I remember of it now is that you could stand in drops of water to regenerate health, and one room had a pile of skulls which spat death at you. It's a good thing that I didn't know any swear words when I first saw that.

It's either Space Invaders on a PET computer that my sister's school let her borrow to bring home, or something like "VENTURE" or "FRENZY" on the Colecovision.

The first game where I remember the name was super mario brothers on the NES, but I had also a console before the NES. I don't remember any games from that console and I don't remember the name of that console.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Yeah, I'm not really a retro gamer.
