First Iron Man 3 trailer!

I think it's looking really good! War Machine's not-iron-patriot armour is far less ugly than it looked before, the extremis suit looks badass, and Tony Stark looks like he's going through genuine character development. Maybe they'll introduce the whole alcoholic crisis thing Stark had in the comics. Also, I'm excited to see The Mandarin, because they're clearly paying a lot of attention to the character with the "no such thing as heroes" and the thinking he's the demonised "good guy", and whoever is playing him seems pretty perfect so far.

What're your thoughts on the trailer?


P.S. Has a trailer for a movie ever come out this early before the release?

EDIT: Also, did you notice that thing at 37 seconds? Maybe they're doing that really fucking weird storyline when the Iron Man became sentient and took Tony hostage because it loved him. They should do that. Complete with a robot-on-dude steamy rape scene? I think so.

I like serious superhero movies.
I really loved the first iron man for being light-hearted fun.
So a serious iron man could have those two clashing.

It's James Rhodes, Tony's friend who had the other suit in Iron Man 2. The rumour is the red, white and blue armour is him again. Not sure if that's confirmed or not.

Are they really doing the extremis story. It looks that way with the scene with him having some sort of operation, but have they said anything official?

Anyway I think it looks good from what little it really shows. Tone seems much more serious than the previous Iron Man films, which could be a good thing. I was very surprised that there were no jokes, not even a one liner at the end when he was in the snow.

I don't know much about comic books but I think you could say he was his sidekick. And I think they have a throw away line in Iron Man 2 to give him that name.

Also isn't the Iron Patriot owned by Sony or something? Isn't he the green goblin or something?

Yes the Iron Patriot is Norman Osbourne, but from what I've heard, while it looks very similar, it's not the Iron Patriot. It's the armour that the army made from the suit taken from Tony in Iron Man 2.

I think I heard the word in passing a while ago, but I don't think they're doing the Extremis storyline. I was just using it as a word for the suit that can fly to Tony on thought command.

Still though, that being said, I have no idea what's going on, who the other suit is, or if I even like the idea of another iron man running around trying to tear down -the- iron man. I thought War Machine was his foil, kinda like Catwoman, sometimes the enemy, sometimes the ally?

- The "Evil" Iron Man is a part of Tony's subconscious haunting him
- The Exteremis Virus is causing him to lose control
- Armor has gained sentience/Jarvis has become compromised
