ITS A GUNDAM!! Oh wait, its just Tony Stark wrecking the city again. I'm sincerely hoping that's supposed to be the bastard child Logan fathered, and not the man himself (I mean COME ON, I know beards aren't common in japan, but a cleanshaven wolverine is just WRONG).Radeonx said:I disagree. The Iron Man theme fits in well with anime, since Iron Man is sort of a mecha. And since anime normally does a good job with mechas, I think it will be good. But, I guess that's just my opinion. Although the Wolverine show is just one gigantic *facepalm* for the western world.SilverHammerMan said:Oh, this looks great. Wink, wink.
The eastern and western cultures should never EVER meet, because the result is always cringe worthy.
Your wrong, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex was pretty fucking awesome, and I've yet to see a Gundam series I didn't at least enjoy. Oh, and you seriously don't want to piss off demon ninja Ron Perlman. He can kill you before you know it, devour your soul, and do FANTASTIC job narrating it and acting it out for all his friends.jacobschndr said:Good frickin' God. Wolverine looks like Joe Dirt with steak knives between his knuckles. And why the fuck does it seem that every anime out there today has to have something totally shit-balls whack like pirates, robots, trucker ninjas, bats that turn into ninjas, demons, demons who are also ninjas and Ron Perlman? (just to name a few). Comics are already far-fetched enough but that...that just makes it weird.
Suffice to say, I will probably still watch one episode of either, maybe. But I'm not holdin' my breath man. Cause deep down inside I really hope this doesn't catch on with all western comic culture. You know, where everyone wants to go anime because they think its cool or something. Christ? Satan? Buddha?! one of you help please!
P.S. The only one truly good anime ever to be made was COWBOY BEBOP, Say I'm Wrong Assholes!
I agree, the style just fits. Since Iron Man has a bunch of mobile suits, this will all add up just fine. And I'll sign up for robot pirates any day.Radeonx said:I disagree. It's definitely a style breach with what we know from the comics and cartoons, but to be honest I'm getting tired of that Wolverine, he's so one-dimensional that it gets really boring. To me this looks like an interesting take on his whole story.SuperMse said:I like the new Wolverine- he seems somewhat like a mix between Wolverine, a samurai, and Vega from Street Fighter.
That's not so much the general grief here, it's more the appearance. Wolverine's owlish hair and trucker-gruff looks is what makes him Wolverine. Frankly I about jizzed myself when Fox got it right for the movie...granted Hugh Jackman is taller than the comic Wolverine's 5 feet, that was a forgiveable small detail. Especially with Hugh taken into account...Archemetis said:Call me crazy but i'm interested in both, even the Wolverine one, I mean sure people could complain that he's not a samurai in feudal Japan fighting ninja-bats or giant demons coated in Samurai armour, but really those people would be completely forgetting what Wovlerine really is even in the western sensibility, he is a warrior, he carries warriors pride and honour, I remember hearing a Marvel interview discussing Wolverine and the direction they felt they should take with him because at the beginning no one was warming up to him for being a basic beserker.
So they moved him into a more indepth character type of this disgraced warrior fighting for his pride and honour, which he already has but never realises it.
So really I can understand the move to set him a more Japanese setting.
Also, didn't the actual Wolverine spend quite a bit of time in Japan? Technically they could just be looking at his time there, and not necessarily setting him there indefinately.
I concur, Ghost n da Shell: SAC was pretty good. But it isn't my favorite. IT tries to be way to complicated for my taste. And I swear the writers for that show are anti-western just by the way they depict characters from the west like america, it smells like BS to me. Oh yeah and congrats...your an Asshole.paragon1 said:Your wrong, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex was pretty fucking awesome, and I've yet to see a Gundam series I didn't at least enjoy.
