I know the game- and filmindustry trys very hard to keep everyone thinking that germans are still Nazis. But I´ve got fate that the escapists think different, so tell me (if you don´t mind) what is the first thing that comes to your mind exept a big empty cinema with zombies in brown uniforms and obvious poses attacking you (and maybe a friend).

I think of home, and curse why my parents had me move here. xD Damn you upstate new york! Though the dudes just love the deep german accent. xDDDD

I'm too lazy to look through every page of this thread just to see if this has been mentioned (maybe I will when I have more time), but the first thing I think when someone says Germany is Blind Guardian. Specifically Hansi Kursch (the lead singer). Their show was the most fun I've ever had at a concert. I'm convinced that Hansi has robot lungs, and therefore never has to breathe, but is still able to talk and sing. That's the only explanation for why he never runs out of breath, especially during Mirror Mirror.

I really want to see them live. Missed out on seeing them a few years back due to having fuck all money.

But i've seen Helloween and Rammstein so 2 out of three ain't bad.

but yeah on topic. Blind Guardian, Helloween, Rammstein, alcohol and Wacken all come to mind for me.

I hate to admit it but the first thing I think of is the Nazis.

That is almost certainly because they killed off 98% of my family during WWII.

Next I think of when I traveled abroad and witnessed a protest against G.W. Bush and the police beat the living crap out of everybody there.

It was pretty intense =/

well beside of the obvious, I think of the Eurozone bailouts and how Germany seems to be the economic heart of Europe.

My first thought is of my PC Grand Strategy games: Civilization IV, Victoria: An Empire Under The Sun, Europa Universalis 2, and Hearts of Iron. Germany tends to be either my favorite nation in Civilization or Hearts of Iron, or region in Victoria and Europa.

After that, I think of the really efficient language, then the equally efficient Chinese language, then Germany-China topics in history and politics, then great literature, then the concept of leadership, then...

Yeah, I'm a tangent machine.
